Once there were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country,    1  mouse lived in the city. After many years the Country Mouse saw the City Mouse, he  2 , "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City Mouse went. The City Mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good,  3 . Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should 4 and live in the city. You would live in a nice house  5 stone.     Lila has trouble(麻烦) seeing. She loves to ride her bike, but she can't see well and tell which way to turn. She loves to play basketball, but she can't 1 the ball when it comes to her. Most of all, Lila loves to go to school, but it's 2 for her to see what is on the blackboard.

    One day Lila's mother takes her to an eye doctor. The doctor 3 Lila's eyes and tells her she is going to wear glasses. At first, Lila feels   4 to wear a pair of glasses.     The Greens have been to two of the greatest cities in the world. One is Beijing, and 1 is Paris. The Greens 2 in Beijing for half a month 3 the summer vacation. They enjoyed 4 there. They've been to many great places. 5 the first two days, they went to Tian'anmen Square. It is very large and there were many people 6 photos there. Next, they went to Beihai Park. They 7 boating there and had a boat race with other visitors. They had a great time there. The Great Wall is one of 8 places of interest in the world. They spent the whole day 9the Great Wall. There were so many people on the Great Wall. The Greens felt very 10 and they took lots of photos there! How beautiful Beijing is! They will go to Beijing again next summer!

    John James Audubon loved all kinds of birds. He spent his life studying them. He painted all the birds of North America.

    John James Audubon was born in Haiti in 1785. When he was a young boy, he moved to France with his family. His father was in the French Navy. He had a farm in the United States. When John was 18, his father sent him to the farm, hoping John would take care of it. But John didn't want to do that. He wanted to hunt, fish, and draw birds. John drew lots of pictures of birds. He wanted to make them look real.

    In 1808, John married Lucy Bakewell and they moved to Kentucky. John and a friend went into business there. They ran a shop. John really didn't like working in the shop. The business soon failed. John wanted to paint full-time. Lucy agreed to help. She got a teaching job to support the family. By that time, they had two young sons.

    John wanted his bird paintings made into a book. He finally did find someone to print his bird pictures in a book. Many people wanted John Audubon's book. Although his book was a great success, John wasn't happy with it. He wanted to show every bird found in North America. By 1838, John finished a great work. It wasn't just one book. It was an amazing set of four books called The Birds of America. It had many paintings. Today, these paintings are very famous.
