Bill and Cathy wanted to go on a holiday. They chose a place called Maldives（马尔代夫）. And they decided {#blank#}1{#/blank#} there for two weeks in spring，because the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} there was perfect at that time. They thought they would have a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} trip. But their tip was more like a nightmare（噩梦）!

    The plane {#blank#}4{#/blank#} off twelve hours later because of the bad weather. And they couldn't fly to Maldives {#blank#}5{#/blank#} there was a storm. They had to fly to the capital city instead. There they stayed in a small hotel near the airport.

    The hotel was next to the sea, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the sea was so dirty that they couldn't swim in it. The food in the hotel was awful, too. For breakfast there {#blank#}7{#/blank#} only bread and milk! Because of the bad weather, they had to stay {#blank#}8{#/blank#} another night in the small hotel. And they had {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to do. It was so boring. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} , they arrived in Maldives three days later. And someone told them the weather there had been wonderful all the time!

Henry is {#blank#}1{#/blank#} American businessman. One day, when he was sailing (航行) on a boat near San Francisco, he was carried out into the sea by a strong wind. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (luck), he was discovered and picked up by a London-bound( 开往伦敦的) ship. Maybe it was because I was an only child and she spent hours1 teaching me to entertain myself. My mother called my stubbornness（固执） "independence". 

At 12，I made a carpool（拼车）schedule with other students' moms and made a six﹣year plan to attend university. While my parents' friends were telling their 2 to finish their homework，mine didn't care whether I'd do the right thing. They 3 thought I would. 

I wanted everyone to think I was perfect. The truth is that while I tried to look 4 ，I felt like phony（骗子）.

So I tried to open up to my loved ones. This helped me deal with my depression and anxiety. I am not 9 for letting others help me through life. If there is any problem，I should talk to the people I love and trust. My parents may be the first 10 ，but I have friends too. They make my life better. 

Zhou Yan is a middle school student in Sichuan Province. She has got a new mobile phone (手机)! It's a gift from her parents. They want her to use it to learn English during the coming winter holiday. But Zhou uses it to watch videos (视频) and send messages (信息). She plays with her mobile phone all the time, even after going to bed! Her parents get very angry about that.

This morning, when she gets up, Zhou finds that she can't move her hands. Her parents take her to a doctor right away. After checking her carefully, the doctor says Zhou Yuan has got "mobile phone disease (疾病)". She'd better stop using her mobile phone right away, or she will have more problems (问题). Now Zhou uses her mobile phone for 30 minutes a day.

So, if you've just got a phone, watch out! Don't use it too much. Or you will get mobile phone disease. Remember if you find your arms and fingers start to hurt (疼), go to see a doctor right away. That's important.

Who is your hero?{#blank#}1{#/blank#}do you like him? You might say it's because he has good looks or a lot of talents. I think Helen Keller is one of the greatest persons all over the world. Helen is{#blank#}2{#/blank#} famous writer and educator in America. When Helen was a baby, she was not{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(luck). 

She couldn't see {#blank#}4{#/blank#} hear. As time passed, things got {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (bad) than before that she couldn't understand anything. But she had a great{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (mind). With the help of Miss Sullivan, Helen{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (go) to school when she got older. 

Helen Keller was so brave and wonderful. She spent all her life {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (help) many blind and deaf people. She died in 1968 because{#blank#}9{#/blank#}bad illness.
