Father's Day has a very short history. It was started because there was a Mother's Day, and just because some Americans thought that if we had a Mother's Day, we should also have a Father's Day. Father's Day has become important in North America. And businesses found it was a good way to get people to buy a present for their father from their shops.
By the way, very few countries have a Father's Day, though some have a Children's Day, or a special day for boys and another for girls. More and more countries are having Mother's Day, so maybe Father's Day will also become popular before too long. Now, what do people in North America do on Father's Day? The newspapers, radios, and TV tell children what they should do — buy, buy, buy, buy, buy a Father's Day present for your father. They even tell a wife to buy, buy, buy, and buy a Father's Day present — not for her father but for her husband, even if he is not yet a father. And they tell grandchildren to buy, buy, buy, and buy a Father's Day present for their grandfathers.
The important thing to remember about Father's Day is that American children can show their love to their fathers in a more open way.

Do you feel lonely(孤单的) when your best friend isn't in the same class? Here's our advice for you.

It's hard when a best friend isn't around— maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out during break or lunchtime. You want to make new friends, but how do you find them? Maybe it seems like everybody has his or her own friends. But remember, there's always room(空间) for more friends.

Start by looking around your classroom— think about which kids you'd like to play with during break. Try saying hello to them, smile, and be friendly. Share something with them. Ask some classmates to play with you or say " Do you want to play together?" in the playground. When you're at break, walk to kids you want to play with, and say " Hi, can I join you?" or just join in them.

If you still don't know how to make friends by yourselves or if you're shy, ask your teacher to help you. Teachers are usually very good at finding people who need friends. The best way to make friends is to be a friend. Being kind, being friendly, sharing, saving nice things, giving other people— soon, you'll have one, or two, or more new friends.

Maybe you still miss your old friends. But when you see them again, you can share something you see recently. You can also introduce him or her to your new friends.
