Coffee and tea are two of the most popular hot drinks. Coffee is very popular in Western Europe and in the Middle East. Different people drink coffee differently. Some people in Northern Europe put cream and sugar in their coffee. But in the United States many people like to drink their coffee "black ", that is, without cream or sugar. Some oriental(东方的)countries such as China, Japan, traditionally drink tea as a national drink. In the Orient, people drink tea without sugar, but in England, where it is also a national drink, it is different. Many people in England put both sugar and hot or cold milk in their tea, while others use lemon. Coffee may also be done differently when it is ordered by the customers, the waiter may ask "regular", which means" Do you want lots of cream in it?" If coffee with lots of cream is not wanted, ask for "black" (no cream)or "dark"(meaning with a small amount of cream in). However, in most cases you may have your own choice by being provided with coffee and cream separately.

I'm David. When I was 13, my parents decided that I should go to England to improve my English. I had never been to other countries before, so I felt a little worried. My parents prepared everything for my journey. My plane was due(预定) to leave at 9:30 am and arrive in two hours. I phoned the English family who I would stay with and they told me they would wait for me at the airport.

Unluckily my plane to London was delayed(推迟). I tried to phone the English family again but I couldn't speak to them because they had already left home for the airport.

When I arrived in London, it was already 1:30 pm. I went to get my luggage(行李) but I couldn't find it. I became very worried. Luckily, the airport workers were very helpful and efficient. I didn't wait long — they found it 10 minutes later.

My English family were quite kind. I learned a lot of English because I spent most of the days talking in English. I played computer games with the little boy in my English family. I also taught him how to play chess. Sometimes I told him stories I learned from my family.

I missed my family during my stay in London, but I also felt sad when my stay came to an end. My English family held a party for me. I enjoyed it very much. I'll never forget that summer in London! It is one of the most wonderful experiences I've ever had.

My friend Jack is a taxi driver. He has done this job for ten years. It's a nice job most of the time. He can meet a lot of people every day. He usually goes home after two o' clock in the morning. There are some very strange things, which often happen at night.

 One day, Jack was taking a young lady back home from a party at three o' clock in the morning. She had her little dog with her. When they got to her house, she found that she had lost her key. So Jack waited in the taxi with the dog while she climbed into her house through the window. Jack waited for about half an hour outside, but the young lady didn't show up. So he decided to find out what was going on. He tied the dog to a tree and started to climb in through the window.

 At that moment some policemen came. They thought Jack was a thief who wanted to get into the house to steal things. Luckily, the young lady came downstairs. She went to sleep and forgot about her friend and the dog.

A man was driving a car in Texas when a policeman stopped him. The man said to the policeman，"Is there a problem，officer？"

"No. I just saw that you were driving very carefully and you are the winner of our competition（竞赛）for safe（安全）driving. You will get 5，000 dollars. Congratulations！What are you going to do with the money？"

The man thought for a minute and said，"Well，I guess I'll go and get a driving license（执照）. "

The lady who was sitting next to the man said to the policeman，"Oh，don't listen to him. He makes jokes when he is drunk. "

The man from the back seat said，"I told you that we wouldn't go far in a stolen（偷来的）car！"

At that moment，there was some noise from the trunk（后备箱）and a voice said，"Are we in Mexico yet？"
