I didn't think I had a passion(激情). I would sit in front of the TV all day, thinking about nothing but the next show. It was not long ago that I first learned how important having a passion is to life.
That day I went with my mum to drive my sister to the gym. I was bored. Then, as my mum stopped at a red light, someone on the side of the road caught my eye(吸引我的世界). It was a man dressed in rags (衣衫褴褛). He was homeless. That didn't interest me, for I had seen many like him before.
But in some ways he was different. This man was not sitting down with a sad expression(表情). He had a radio in his hand and was dancing happily to the music. The radio seemed to be the most precious(珍贵)thing he had.
“Mum, why does that man have a radio even thought(尽管) he's homeless?”I asked.
“He bought it," she replied. I was still unable to understand.
“But if he's homeless, why doesn't he use the money to buy food or clothes? He wasted it on something he doesn't need.”
“Well, Sarah, sometimes food and clothes aren't the most important things. We need happiness, too.”
The man must care too much about music to buy a radio instead of food clothes. I soon realized(意识到)that happiness is the key to life. Without it, there's nothing to look forward to.
Since then I've never gone a day without thinking of what's truly important. A home, a meal, clothes—these things are only part of the picture. What's often forgotten is that we all need a pleasure, a light in a dark day. We all need a passion.

On April 19th, a pottery (陶器) exhibition was held at Wuhan Optical Experimental Valley School. Many pieces of pottery in different sizes were shown at the school. Some were a bit broken, but all of them were beautiful works of art created by the students.

At the end of last year, the school started a project that called on teachers to collect disused or broken pieces of pottery from the countryside. So far, they have collected about 3,000 pieces.

"Pottery used to play an important role in the daily lives of Chinese people." school head Ma Guoxin told the reporter. "By pottery painting, the students can improve themselves in many ways. They can better understand the history of the pottery, put their creativity into the pottery and show the love for life and beauty. "

Students turned the pottery into different works of art .They were all encouraged to paint pictures on the pottery, even though some students didn't know how to paint. Wang Zixuan, a student from Grade Eight, with little knowledge of painting, painted a beautiful night scenery on a piece of pottery. It was so nice that many students loved it.

Almost every classroom has coloured pieces of pottery. They are either used as flowerpots or pen containers(笔筒). The school has also set up several art corners to show the pottery. For example, the students have put up some pottery on bookcases outside of a lecture hall(报告厅) It has become an enjoyable place for students to rest and read.

To share is simply to let someone else have or use a part of something that belongs to you. It doesn't mean we're losing anything—because what's actually happening is that we're giving ourselves more of a chance to be sincere(真诚的), which in turn makes us feel better. Sharing also means that you are not alone because others have the similar experience with you. Here is a story about learning to share.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful flower with beautiful colors: red, orange and yellow. The flower was very happy because everyone who saw it said it was beautiful. As time went by, she thought she was the most beautiful among all flowers. And she was very proud of her colors, but she didn't want others to enjoy them. She was worried that others would imitate her. In that case, she would not be the most beautiful in this area. So she only came out at night.

One day, it began to rain during sunrise and didn't stop until nightfall(黄昏). When the flower woke up in the evening, she opened her petals(花瓣) and realized that she had lost all colors. Now she was all white like the snow. What had happened? The flower was so sad that she couldn't stop crying.

Suddenly, a fairy(仙子)wearing a dress with a colorful magic stick appeared in front of her. "What's wrong with you? Why are you so sad?" she asked.

"I've lost my lovely colors. The rain in the day has washed them away completely," the flower cried.

"Don't worry. I can give them back to you, but under one condition…"

    "Which one?" the flower asked.

"I want you to     ▲   . I don't want to see that you just come out at night. You should share it with others."

Now everyone who passed by the flower would stop." This is the most beautiful flower I've seen!" many of them said. The flower was really happy because she understood that sharing good things with others was so wonderful.
