Years ago, if a teenager had some problems in his life, he might write them in his diary. Now a teenager w{#blank#}1{#/blank#} the same problems might get on the Internet and write them in his blog. In many ways, a diary and a blog are almost the same. So, what makes a blog d{#blank#}2{#/blank#} from a diary?

    The biggest difference is that a blog is much more public t{#blank#}3{#/blank#} a diary. Usually, a teenager likes hiding his diary book and treats it as one full of s{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Both diaries and blogs tell what happened to the writer that day.

    A blog has both good and bad points (特点). The biggest problem is that anyone can read what you write in your blog. If you are not satisfied with a friend during school and write something bad about him in your diary, he will never know it.     For most of the twentieth century, people communicated by telephone or by mail. This is now changing, and email is becoming the preferred method of communication. It's faster than traditional mail. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. As email is becoming popular, here are some rules we need to know.

    ●Be polite and friendly.

    Start your message with a greeting. If you are writing to a friend, you can begin with Hi, Sandra. If you are writing to your teacher, begin with your message with Dear Mr. Atonso. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Many people just type their names. Others say Bye, Cheers, or use abbreviations（缩略语）like BFN（bye for now）.

    ●Look good.

    When someone receives an email message from you, they might not know anything about you. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, so make yourself look good. Type your message, and then read it again. Sometimes sentences seem clear when you write them, but they don't make sense when you read them back.

    If you start to use your email several times a week, your message box will soon fill with mail. After a few weeks, you can have a list of 60 or 70 messages!
