    Copernicus was an astronomer(天文学家). He studied the {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(planets/weather) and the stars. He found out that the earth {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (walks/goes) around the sun. He put his thought into a book, but he hid the book. Nobody could read it {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (before/after) Copernicus died.

    Many years later, Galileo {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (read/watched) the book and believed that thought. Galileo said that the earth was moving around the sun. This made lots of people {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (happy/angry) because they thought the earth must be the center of the universe. Galileo got into trouble and he had to say that he was {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(brave/wrong), but Galileo knew he was right.

    Galileo watched the moon carefully through his telescope(望远镜). He {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(invented/saw) some hills there. He also saw {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (millions/millions of) stars in the universe. In 1673 his eyes became weak, and then he couldn't see {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(anything/nothing) through his telescope.

   Galileo died in 1642 and the world lost a {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (funny/great) man. But in the same year, another great scientist Newton was born in England.

    My wife and I were on the beach, with our children. We were{#blank#}1{#/blank#}pictures of some birds.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}I heard my daughter Lisa shouting, "Dad! A bear is right behind{#blank#}3{#/blank#}" Then I saw that small bear. It {#blank#}4{#/blank#}quietly behind us then.

    While my wife and I {#blank#}5{#/blank#}about it, it stood across me. The bear behaved abnormally (表现异常). It hit the camera, cutting it off the tripod (三脚架). The {#blank#}6{#/blank#}got  very  difficult. I was standing there -- between the bear and my family. All of us had little {#blank#}7{#/blank#} of running faster than the bear. The bear opened its mouth. I had to raise my arms {#blank#}8{#/blank#} myself. I caught its {#blank#}9{#/blank#} While I was getting ready to fight (战斗) with it, it started to rain heavily. The bear moved back towards the forest. But before {#blank#}10{#/blank#}to the forest, it bit my arm. The first time I felt afraid. I drove away quickly with my family. I didn't feel my arm hurt till I arrived home.

    Chinese schools are very different from British schools. In Britain（英国）, students have fewer classes t{#blank#}1{#/blank#} in China. In Britain, classes s{#blank#}2{#/blank#} at about 9:00 a.m. and finish at about 3:30 p.m. British students also have {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(little) homework than Chinese students. This gives British students {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (much) free time to go to school clubs.

    In Britain, students{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (usual) wear a skirt or trousers, a jacket and a tie. Some people think this {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (look) very smart, but others don't think their{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(uniform) look very nice. In Britain, students study the{#blank#}8{#/blank#} subjects as in China. Just like in China, different {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (student) have different opinions（观点）about schools in Britain. Some students think that school is very{#blank#}10{#/blank#} (interest), but some students think it is very boring.
