When I was a little girl, I was very shy and unconfident. I used to be afraid of {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(speak) in public, so I always kept quiet in class. I never answered the teachers' questions. I just listened to them {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(quiet).

But one day, things changed. I {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(listen) to my Chinese teacher Ms. Song carefully {#blank#}4{#/blank#}usual. Suddenly, she asked the whole class {#blank#}5{#/blank#}question which was quite easy. Ms. Song looked around, and then her eyes were on me. She asked me {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(answer) it. Feeling nervous, I stood up slowly and was unable to say a word. "Come on! Believe {#blank#}7{#/blank#}yourself. You are the best!" said Ms. Song. I looked at Ms. Song in the eyes, and I could feel her encouragements. I {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(take) courage from it and answered the question {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(correct). Ms. Song gave me a big smile and so did my classmates. From then {#blank#}10{#/blank#}, I started to  answer the teachers' questions in class.

    Since then, whenever I meet challenges, I always say to myself, "You're the best."

    One day Mrs. Green took her child Tom to go shopping. They {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(go) to the supermarket in the shopping mall.

    "{#blank#}2{#/blank#}do you buy things here, Mom?" Tom asked. "Because the things here are {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (cheap) than those in other stores," Mrs. Green said, "Help me check the prices."

    The Greens  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(be) not rich, so Mrs. Green was always careful to spend the money. She looked {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(careful) at the prices of the things. She bought many {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(kind) of things there.

    When they got home, Tom said, "I don't think you saved money by {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(go) to the supermarket there." "Of course I did," said Mrs. Green. "Everything was cheaper there."

    "Yes," said the child, "{#blank#}8{#/blank#}we must take the taxi home because we had too many things {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(carry). The cost of the taxi was more  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}the money you saved!"

    Then Mrs. Green added everything up and found her child was right.

"Well done," she said. "Next time we will do shopping near our home.

    I have two friends. They are Jennifer and Victor. We are in{#blank#}1{#/blank#}same class. Jennifer {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(swim) very well, so she wants {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(join) the swimming club. Then she can swim on Saturdays or Sundays. Victor wants to join the art club because he is good {#blank#}4{#/blank#}drawing.
