Mr. and Mrs. Su don't often go out in the evening, but today they go out for a walk after supper. They go to the park and have a good time there. On their way home, Mrs. Su says to Mr. Su, "Look! A woman is running in the street and a man is running after（追赶）her." Mr. Su says, " What's the matter? Let's go and help her."

    Now the woman gets near them. Mr. Su asks, "Shall we help you?" "No, thank you," the woman says, "My husband and I are running home, and the slower (较慢的) one does the housework."

    Mrs. Smith is Jim's mother. She loves her family very much. She often buys food, fruit and clothes for Jim and his father. Now many clothes are on sale at good prices.

    Mrs. Smith comes to the store and she wants to buy some clothes. It has sweaters in all colors for ￥15 each (每件）and sports shoes for only ￥28. Mrs. Smith likes the red sweater and she buys one for herself. She buys a pair of sports shoes for her son. The T-shirts in the store are just ￥18! She buys a white one for Mr. Smith. And that's not all. The socks, in all colors, are ￥2 each. She buys five pairs.

When the new term came. I had a new classmate, a little old lady with a warm smile. She said, "Hi, handsome! I'm Rose. I'm 1  years old. Can I give you a hug?" I was a little surprised to see such an old classmate. But I said heartily. "Of course!"

"Why are you  2   at such an age?" I asked. She laughed and joked, "I'm here to meet a husband, get married, have children, and then travel around. "

"No. 3  " I asked, "Tell me the truth. "

"I always dreamed of having a college education. Now I'm getting one!" she told me. 

Over the year, Rose became an icon(偶像). She  4  made friends wherever she went. She was very popular in the school

Rose taught us by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.
