I am Jackie Lee, an {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(America) Chinese. Let me tell you about my {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (grandfather) life story.

    My grandfather was born in 1932 and {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(grow) up in a poor village in Fujian, China. At the age of 14, he first heard of America. It {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (say) to be the land of gold and poor people could {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(easy) become rich there.    So, my grandfather came to America. "I had thought it was easy to make money in America," he told me. "But when I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (arrive) in Los Angeles, I realized it was not true. I couldn't find a good job because  I spoke little English. I wanted {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (go) to a language school to learn English, but I couldn't afford it. Later, I worked in a small restaurant ,{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(serve) the guests, cleaning up the tables, washing the dishes and sweeping the floors. I was such a helpful and honest worker {#blank#}9{#/blank#} my boss was pleased with me. I was popular with my workmates, too. Life became easier and in the end I entered an evening school to learn English."

      My grandfather kept working hard , and finally made {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (he) dream come true. Things do not come easily in life. That is what I have learned from my grandfather.

    There is a special kind of hotel in Quebec, Canada. It has a bar, a church, a shop and a small movie theater.These things are not unusual. But this hotel is only open from J{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to March every year. Why? Because it is {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (make) of ice and snow! When the weather {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(get) warm, the hotel melts (融化) and closes. Every winter, the hotel owners{#blank#}4{#/blank#} (build) the hotel again.

    Everything in the Ice Hotel is made of ice and snow. All the furniture, such as the {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (table) and chairs, is made of ice, even the beds are made of ice! So people use special sleeping bags on the ice beds. Inside the Ice Hotel, the temperature is about 3 degrees blew zero.

    When people sleep, the sleeping bags keep them w{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. In the morning, they can have a hot breakfast. After breakfast, people can enjoy winter activities. They can go skiing or ice fishing, or they can go s {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in the dining room. A{#blank#}8{#/blank#}the end of the day, people can relax at the bar. They can have drinks in glasses made of ice. Many people e {#blank#}9{#/blank#}the Ice Hotel every year, but they can only enjoy it for a short time b {#blank#}10{#/blank#}it melts again.

    We can't remember{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(clear) since when we started to take our mobile phones to a dinner table. This happens a lot, especially when we eat out. Once d{#blank#}2{#/blank#} come, we take out our mobile phones and take photos i{#blank#}3{#/blank#}of lifting our chopsticks. Later, we post the photos onto Weibo or Wechat, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(wait) to be "liked”. Then we checked our mobile phones from time to time during the meal, to see w{#blank#}5{#/blank#} we get “liked” or not. We just cannot leave our mobile phones for simply a meal.

    A recent study {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(suggest) that what we are used to doing is not that good. Spending time taking photos of food makes the food less pleasant So, w{#blank#}7{#/blank#} not stop taking photos and just enjoy the food ahead of you?

    Besides the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(science)result, there are also some other bad influences of taking photos of food before meals. After posting the photos onto the Internet, one will be unable to control himself and check his mobile phone many times." Does everyone accept my photos? I hope a lot of people like them!" It seems like your mobile phone secretly calls your name all the time, even when you are w {#blank#}9{#/blank#}real people.

    So, next time you go out to have dinner, how about not taking photos of food? Let the food be delicious as it is and share your life with others. Trust me, and it will be a {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(wonder) time.
