Boys and girls, our new library has been {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Here are some {#blank#}2{#/blank#} we must follow. Speaking loudly is not {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in the library, students have to keep the library {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, for the last rule, smoking is not allowed {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the library.

      It says that bats (蝙蝠) are almost blind (瞎的). Do you know h{#blank#}1{#/blank#}   the bat finds the way? In fact (事实上), bats find their ways w{#blank#}2{#/blank#}  the help of their ears. Bats make a sound that we can't h{#blank#}3{#/blank#}  at all. They cry when they fly and the echoes (回声) of these cries come back to their ears. In this way they can k{#blank#}4{#/blank#}    where they should go. Bats f{#blank#}5{#/blank#}  out in the evening. In the daytime, they just stay together in their homes.

      When the evening c{#blank#}6{#/blank#}   , they begin to go out and look for f{#blank#}7{#/blank#}  . The next morning, they come back from work to sleep until the evening. Some people t{#blank#}8{#/blank#}  that bats are bad animals. In fact, they are very u{#blank#}9{#/blank#} .  They c{#blank#}10{#/blank#}  and eat pests (害虫). This is very good for people.

    As middle school students, we should not only know how to protect  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (我们). But we should know how to help people in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (苦恼). Zhang Qiang is just the boy who can help himself and others.

    Zhang Qiang is a  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (有残疾的) student. There is something {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (有毛病) with his left leg. But he never gives up. He often does {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (志愿者) work on weekends.For example, he tells stories to those {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (孤独的) old people in the old people's home. Although it's difficult for him to walk to school, he kept on doing so. At school, he {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (和睦相处) on well with his classmates and teachers.He always gets good {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (成绩). He says, “ I should {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (依靠) on myself and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (尽力) my best to help others.”

    Bill doesn't do well in public speaking. One day, he {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（invite）to make a speech at the church. His {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（young）brother, Ben, knew he was nervous and tried to calm him down. “ Don't worry. Everything{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (be) fine.”

    When the day came, Bill's car had an accident{#blank#}4{#/blank#} the way to the church. Luckily, he wasn't badly hurt and got to the church on time. It was his turn. When he stood up, his coat became tangled  (纠缠)with his chair. After a few {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (minute), he began his speech, but he was so nervous {#blank#}6{#/blank#} he dropped his book. Many people thought he would run, but he went on.

    Suddenly, people saw something{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (usual) running down from his nose, blood! He stopped {#blank#}8{#/blank#} （speak) when he saw the blood. But he still tried to finish his speech. Then Ben quietly moved to the front and handed him his handkerchief(手帕).Then he gave him a smile and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (return) to his seat.

    It was a really simple gesture, and might be the simplest. He just saw someone in need, and gave him a hand. In the end, Bill finished his talk{#blank#}10{#/blank#} more confidence.

    Smiles send us light in the darkness. Smiles bring us warm sunlight on a cold day.  Smiles can break the hard ice. Smiles are like the rainbow. The rainy days end {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the sky is beautiful again.

    Smiles show love and friendship. Teachers' Smiles encourage us. Mothers' Smiles warm us. Friends' Smiles make us {#blank#}2{#/blank#}.

    We welcome smiles from others. And we {#blank#}3{#/blank#} give others our smiles too. No one is richer than a man {#blank#}4{#/blank#} often smiles at others. If a man doesn't smile at you, just Smiles at him. Smiles help you forget your sadness.

    Life is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} long road. Why not cover it with smiles?
