The Other Side of the Wall

    There was a young woman who took great pride in her flower garden. She was raised by her grandmother who taught her to love and take care of flowers. So her flower garden was the 1.

    One day, while she was looking through a flower list she often 2 the flowers from, suddenly a picture of a plant caught her eyes. She had never 3 blooms(花) on a flower like that before. “I have to have it,” she said to 4, and she ordered it at once.

When it arrived, she already had a 5 prepared to plant it. She planted it at the back of her yard. It grew well, with beautiful green leaves all over it, 6 there were no blooms. Day after day she continued to water it, feed it, and she even talked to it, trying to make it bloom. However, it was 7.

    One morning, a few weeks later, when standing before the vine(藤), she felt very 8 that her plant had not bloomed. She was giving thought to  9 it down and planting something else in its place.

    It was at this point that her neighbor, whose 10 joined hers, called over to her. “Thank you so much! You can't imagine how much I have 11 the blooms of that vine you planted.” The young woman walked 12 the gate into her neighbor's yard, and she saw that on the other side of the wall the vine was 13 with blooms.

    They were indeed the most beautiful blooms she had 14 seen. The vine had grown through the crevices (缝隙) and it had not flowered on 15 side of the wall, but it had flowered on the other side.

    Sometimes one may not see the good result of his effort (努力), but that doesn't mean it isn't successful.

    No visitor was left in the museum now, and John was walking around to check if everything was all right.1 he saw a beautiful painting lying on the floor. John2 and gave it to the curator (馆长). The curator called several museums to check if it was a stolen painting3no one claimed(认领) it. So the curator decided to hang it.4said it was beautiful and had a very deep meaning. The curator was5to have such a painting in his museum and congratulated John on his discovery. Some weeks later a woman and her 6came to the museum. While they were looking at that painting, the little boy began to7. The curator went over and asked what was making him so sad. The child pointed to 8and said, "That's my painting and I want it back."

    "Yes," said his mother. "He 9it on the floor a few weeks ago. If you look carefully, you can see the name on the painting. " The curator 10believe his ears when he heard the truth.

Several years ago, when I was teaching at a middleschool, a girl sent me a message. She found someone write a very1messageon her locker. She made a picture of it and then sent it to me asking for2.

A few hours later, I noticed that on herInstagram she had posted that picture and asked if anyone3whodid that.

Well, the following day, the girl came to mewith a boy. She showed me a4she had received. It was a heartfeltapology. I asked her if she knew who had done it, and the boy repliedembarrassedly(尴尬地), "It was me. I don't know why I did it,but I know it was5. So I wrote her this note. I6wantedto do something to try to make up for my meanness."

My heart felt so full of7forthis boy. I told him how8he was to come forward and how amazing itwas that he did something9to correct his mistake. I10thegirl and asked her if she could forgive him. Without hesitation, she said, "Yes."

I think middle school students are not littlechildren any more, and not grown-ups yet. It is normal that they make mistakes.Every day I remind myself that although I am an educator, my students trulylove me.

Mike went to a(n){#blank#}1{#/blank#}island to spend his holiday. He wrote something on the beach. The island was quiet and beautiful and he enjoyed himself. He didn't feel {#blank#}2{#/blank#}when he was{#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

The English teacher came into the classroom with test papers in his hands. He said with a smile, "I know there are too many tests for you these days, but the test today is very1 .It is different from your other tests." The teacher started to hand out the test papers to each student.

There was only a small black " X " in the middle of the paper. The students were very 2 to see that.The teacher noticed the students' surprise.Then he said, "I want you to 3 what you see there. You must finish it by yoursclves."

All the students 4 about it hard and then wrote down their answers quietly. The next day,   the teacher said, "You only paid attention to the black ' X  ' , but nobody wrote about the white paper."

The whole class listened 5 , because they worried that they might fail the exam.

Then the tcacher said, "Don't worry. I just want you to think about your 6 .The white paper is like your whole life and the black ' X  ' is just like the problems in your daily life."7 , the students understood what the test was about.

Life is a wonderful 8  , full of love and care. If you only care about the problems, you'll never 9 that they are much smaller than everything else life gives you. So it' s better to look on the bright side, 10 each moment, and find happiness in life.

 Last Sunday evening, my parents went out for a walk with my sister. But I studied alone at home because I would have an English test. Suddenly, I saw bright light in my neighbor's kitchen. I thought he was cooking, so I went on studying.

Soon, there was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbor's kitchen. So I shouted" Fire, Fire!" But no one heard or came out.

I ran quickly to my house to call 911, and then I rang my neighbor's doorbell, knocked at the door, but there was no response. I got into the house through the window and found my neighbor sleeping in his bedroom. I woke him up and we rushed out of the house together.

We tried our best to pour water through the kitchen window, but the fire was too heavy. Luckily, the firemen came and put out the fire quickly. When my parents came back, they found I was dirty and tired. After my neighbor told them the whole story, they were happy and said I was a brave boy.
