Dogs are good friends of humans. Some dog lovers want to take their pets along with them wherever they go. However, many malls, bars and restaurants don't allow dogs inside. But in good news for dog owners, the world's first bus tour for dogs appeared on the streets of London last month.

    The tour is free. It takes owners and their dogs to some of London's best parks and hottest dog-walking spots(地点). For example, the buses stop at Hyde Park and Green Park. The tour guides on the buses explain the history of dogs in London and about the many corgis(柯基犬) owned by Queen Elizabeth II. They also give the owners a map of dog-friendly bars and restaurants in the city.

    For many years, sales of garlic in California had been little because of the much cheaper garlic from China. This year, however, California garlic sales are rising because American government increases tariffs (关税) on Chinese products.

    Christopher, a garlic grower in California, is manager of his company and he said, "In a perfect world, we would love to see the tariffs on China."

    Tariffs on Chinese garlic rose from 10% to 25% on May 9, 2019, and the reason is that U.S President Donald Trump increased tariffs on Chinese products worth of $200 billion. Since then, Chinese buyers have almost stopped buying soybeans from the United States and American soybean farmers are now getting worried.

    Not everyone likes the garlic tariffs in the U.S. Last July Christopher expressed his support on Trump's policy (政策). However, officials from McCormick and Company Inc. didn't agree with the policy. McCormick's CEO, Lawrence told Reuters (路透社) that without Chinese garlic America can't go. Actually ,the trade war (贸易战) between China and America is a sign of American hegemony (霸权), and it will destroy American economy and U.S government will lose its trust from other countries in the world.

One hundred years ago in 1924, Rabindranath Tagore made his first trip to China. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（he） visit is still remembered by Chinese people today. Do you know this poet's story? Tagore was born on May 7, 1861, in India and {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（receive） his early education at home. He started writing poems  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the age of eight. His first poems were published {#blank#}4{#/blank#} he was just sixteen.

Tagore was then sent to England to study law. However, he failed {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（complete） his studies.

He went back to West Bengal in 1880 and got married three years later. Then in 1901, he set up an international college .It offered many courses. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (unlucky) , between 1902 and 1907 ,Tagore lost his wife and two children. His {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (sad) is reflected in his later book of poems, Gitanjali. It {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(publish) in 1910 and made him famous around the world. Three years later he won the Nobel prize in literature. He was the {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (one) non-European to win the prize. 

During his life, Tagore visited more than thirty countries. Besides poems, he created many other works {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(include) some plays, short stories and more. He was also a good painter.

Different people have different eating habits.

There is a Chinese saying， "Good things for breakfast. Eat a big meal for lunch but eat a little for dinner".

Many Americans also have a good breakfast every day，but their ideas about lunch and dinner are different from Chinese. Most（大多数）Americans only have a short time for lunch. So their lunch is usually small. After work they will have more（更多的） time to eat a big dinner.

Eating in a restaurant is also different. In China，many people like to talk and laugh while（当……时）eating. But Americans want a quiet place because they can eat a good meal. If someone talks too loudly（大声地），the manager（经理）of the restaurant will come and ask him or her to be quiet.
