Last Friday, I was just in France to visit my 96-year-old grandmother who is very dear to me ­­­­­­ 1   lives alone. I don't visit her very often, so every time I go to see her,   2of us think that it might be the   3    time we see each other. Last time I visited her in December of 2014, I did some video interviews about her life. I asked her  4   it was like to grow up with her father in the 1920s, to live with two young children, with her husband   5  in a prisoner's camp (集中营) in Germany. I also asked her about her greatest   6  . I learned a lot of amazing new things about her that I never know before.

     This year, I did not really have questions to ask. I only wanted to tell her how loved she is. So, I cooked for her and read stories. I gave her a foot massage （按摩）.   7    leaving, I wanted to leave something  8 behind besides the memory of our time together. So I wrote her five different love and thank notes to let her knows how much she means to me. I   9 them in different places where I knew she would  10  find them. One of them was under her pillow. 11    one was hanging from the lamp shade by which she reads in the evening.  Another one was by her toothbrush. One was in her mailbox which she has to check every day. And the last one was in her car. She still  12  to the nearby village a couple of times a week!

       I knew that these cards would surely cheer her up after I left. Really she called me as I was catching my plane back to the US. She said, “ I found your three cards! By the time I discovered the third, I was laughing out loud! They did me so much good. Thank you so much!” I smiled to myself, 13  she still has two more to go! It is Sunday today, so my guess is that she hasn't  14   her mailbox or driven her car! I can  15  how happy she will be when she finds them.

    The Sun shone high in the sky．When a little boy was playing in the garden of a house，a deer suddenly rushed into．It took the boy away．This made the little boy afraid and shouted．His mother came out，seeing the deer running off towards the mountains with her little boy．

    The boy's mother was so worried. She ran after the deer，as fast as she could，but not too far away，she found her little boy sitting safely on the grass．His mother was so happy that she cried．

    When she went back home with her son，she was amazed at what she saw．The big tree in the back of their house fell down when she was out looking for her son．The whole house was broken．The chickens and dogs in the house were all dead．If she and her little boy were at home，．．．

    Then the little boy's mother remembered the deer．About a year ago，it ran into her house because a hunter(猎人)wanted to catch it．She felt sorry for the poor deer，so she covered it with some clothes．When the hunter rushed in，he couldn't find it．He thought it must go out of the back door, so he kept catching it，and when he was far，far away，she let it return to the forest．

    She never imagined that the deer could remember her kindness(友善)．

    When I was a child, my father had to do three jobs for a family of seven. Every time I saw him come back late, looking 1 I promised myself that someday I would show my 2 to my father for what he had done.

    Over the next twenty years, my father worked hard to 3our big family and suffered a lot from a heart problem. One morning, my father's old car broke down and he asked me to 4him up after his medical examination. He had 5 refused when I offered to replace (取代) his old car. He said that he did not want something that he couldn't pay6.

    7he stepped out of the doctor's office, he looked serious. We drove in silence and he made me promise to keep the medical report as a8. I did this with a heavy heart.

    At that time, I was 9a new car. I asked my father to go with me to pick10out. When I started talking with the salesman, I noticed my father11a brown car. I12chose a white car. My father took one final look at the brown car and seemed kind of 13before leaving. I heard him muttering (嘀咕) to himself, “14like that car. Wish I could 15it.”

    Several days later, I asked my father if he could go with me to pick up16new car. As we arrived, the salesman17him a key to a new car - the brown one - and18that it was for him, from me. My father looked at me in great19 I told him it was my childhood20and smiled at this man, who had given up everything for his family.

    Annie works in a big company. She lives 1 in Chicago. She often does everything on her own. One day, she 2 down from her bed and broke her leg, and she had to save herself. She tried to call her friend Lisa. But she dialed a 3 number. The call 4 Taylor, an 18-year-old girl. She was a college student and she lived hundreds of miles away from Chicago. At that time Taylor was reading in bed and she thought it was someone 5 a joke and making fun of her. When she was going to hang up the 6, she heard a woman saying, "Help! Help!" From it, Taylor thought something 7 must have happened to the woman. After she got the 8 name and address. Taylor called 911 at once. Then she tried to make the woman, Annie feel 9.     Walt Disney came from America. When he was very young, his family moved from the city to a farm. 1 Disney was busy most of the time, he could still find 2to do interesting things.     As he grew older, Disney's art5also grew. He began using a new way to tell his stories. To do this, he drew the same picture many times, changing each one a little. Using the camera, he took a photo of each drawing. Next, he put the film through a movie projector(放映机).

    As the pictures ran6 through the projector, the characters looked 7 Disney soon began to make his drawings into cartoons in this way.
