We all have our own ways of sharing our life experiences with others.
Photographers use cameras, artists use brushes, musicians use songs and writers use stories.
Spencer Johnson's story Who Moved My Cheese? shows changes exist in(存在于) our life. Life changes and so do we. We must change ourselves to face the changing environment, or we will fail.
Just look at the cycle (循环) of Trees bud (发芽)in spring and in summer their leaves turn green. In autumn, their leaves start to fall onto the ground. When winter arrives, there are no leaves on trees. Next spring the cycle begins again. Since we know there are cycles in nature, we can prepare for them. We know it is colder in winter and hotter in summer, so we can dress properly.
Since we accept the cycles of nature, we should also accept the changes in our life.
We can prepare ourselves for changes by becoming more flexible(灵活的).We can regard the changes in our life as chances. As long as we keep changing ourselves, we can keep up with the changes in our life.

The blind woman came into the shop and bought a box of twelve cakes. The clerk treated the woman badly at first. Then he cheated(欺骗) her when he gave her the change. He only gave her 6 dollars instead of 34 dollars. Would someone be brave enough to stand up for the blind woman? Yes! A customer the cake shop stopped the clerk from cheating the blind woman and treating her badly. And other customers joined in soon. John appeared in the end and interviewed the first customer who helped Pamela out. She said it was necessary to give a hand to the people in need. "A psychology (心理学)professor once said, " she said, " it's difficult to take the first step to stand up. It needs courage." |

Dear Ms White, I used to have a lot of problems and I always tried to fix them by myself. I used to do badly in English. To fix it, I read English newspapers and went to the school English corner to improve it. Now I'm quite good at it. I used to be weak. To fix it, I ate right and joined a sports club. Now I'm strong and healthy. I used to be afraid of speaking in public. To fix it, I took part in all kinds of school activities. Now I'm outgoing and everyone likes making friends with me. But now I have a problem that I can't fix. I have the ugliest nose in the whole world! It's not only fat but also big! I want to have a nose job (鼻子整形), but how can I get my parents to agree? Yours, Ann, 12 |
Dear Ann, It sounds like you're a really proactive (积极主动的) person, always fixing problems. That's good, but when it comes to things like your nose, you have to stop. It sounds to me that you're looking for things that are wrong with your body. That's very dangerous. Also, I'd like to point out that nobody is perfect. A nose doesn't reflect(招致非议) who you are, so there's no need for you to feel bad about yourself at all. In my opinion, as a student, you should pay more attention to your schoolwork instead of your looks. Best wishes, Ms White |
