Qian Xuesen was a great scientist. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} He is also known as "the King of the Rocket." Thanks to his research, China's space technology has progressed in a rapid way.

Qian was born in Shanghai on December 11th, 1911. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} After graduation, he worked in America for a few years. In the early 1950s, he heard that New China had been founded (建立), and he decided to give up the good working conditions in America. Although the American government tried to stop him from leaving, he succeeded in coming back to China in 1955.

{#blank#}3{#/blank#} Then it became the leading organization for China's rocket and air travel. At that time, the conditions in China were too hard. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} On April 24, 1970, China's first man-made satellite (卫星), "Dongfanghong I" was successfully sent into the air.

A student of Qian Xuesen, Zhu Yilin, once said, "I learned professional knowledge and working spirit from Mr. Qian. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} When New China needed scientists badly, he returned to help in the rocket industry."

It's a sunny day today. A hungry fox(狐狸) is walking on the grass and looking for food. Soon, he sees a fat chicken playing near a farm. He says to himself," Wow, great! This is my breakfast. It must be really delicious!" He comes up to the chicken and says," Good morning, Miss Chicken. I know you can sing very well. All my friends like your songs very much. Can you sing one for me?" The chicken is happy to hear that. She closes her eyes and begins to sing a song. At the moment, the fox sees that and takes her away quickly.

 On the farm, there are some farmers working. They see the fox and shout," Look! The fox is taking the chicken away." Hearing this, the chicken says to the fox," Mr. Fox, can you hear that? The people say you are taking their chicken away. Tell them I am your chicken, not their chicken." The fox opens his mouth and says," Yes, you are right." Then he shouts," This is my chicken, not your chicken." Just then the chicken runs away from the fox and flies into the tree.

Wang Ming and Leo are two students of Shenzhen. Last summer holiday they went to Beijing from Shenzhen by bike. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} They took a map, enough food, water and some medicine with them. The journey was hard, but they felt happy.

They didn't have much money with them. They went through many cities and villages during the travelling. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} When they were tired, they stayed in the farmers' houses. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} They never stayed in a hotel. When it was rainy, they stopped for a while and went on with their travelling.

 Hello! I'm Timo Halla! I'm 13 years old. Some of my classmates like sports and some are {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(interest) in music. And here is what I love--cooking.

I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(real) love cooking and I can cook great food. I don't learn to   cook in class. I learn to cook from videos an TV. Here is my bread. It looks like  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} apple. There {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(be) milk and eggs in it. My parents often say my bread is very good and healthy.

 When I cook new food, I first ask my parents {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(eat) it. Then I take some of it to my grandmother. She {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(like) my food very much.

 There are cooking {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(lesson) in my school. Now I'm good  {#blank#}8{#/blank#} cooking all kinds of Chinese food. And my school knows I can  {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(cook) well, so the teacher is me and all the students likes me. I teach{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(they) to cook. They all think cooking is interesting and easy now.
