Happiness means different things to different people. For Mary, who has {#blank#}1{#/blank#} severe sleeping problem, happiness is as simple as having a good night's sleep.

    Bed was once a place {#blank#}2{#/blank#} Mary went to rest after a long, hard day. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, she has not had a full night's sleep in almost six months. Her doctor said that{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(count) sheep might help her fall asleep. She tried this, but soon got tired of it after it failed to work. She finds the nights without sleep almost {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(bear) . She is always sleepy and lacks energy during the day.

    Mary is not alone. Studies show that more than one in three people worldwide struggle with getting enough sleep. It often takes on different {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(form) : some people can get to sleep, but wake up much too early; some get a full night's sleep, but are {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(disappoint)  to find that they still feel tired when they wake up; others, like Mary, find {#blank#}8{#/blank#} difficult to fall asleep in the first place.

    Specialists say that people should not worry too much about this problem. In most cases, a lack of sleep {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(cause) by anxiety and pressure. It is important to keep yourself {#blank#}10{#/blank#} good spirits and to be positive. 

    I love reading. At age 6, I could be found reading Harry Potter, a difficult book for a 6-year-old but I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(enjoy) it all the same. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} soon became obvious that spelling for me was not difficult and I had a wide vocabulary. This is one way I benefited {#blank#}3{#/blank#} reading at such a young age.

    My advice for you as English learners would be to read the English novels {#blank#}4{#/blank#}you have often read in your native language. Reading novels is a great way of {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(improve) your vocabulary and spelling without realising it as you are absorbed（全神贯注的）in the storyline. You know the sorry well, so its {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(usual) easy to follow it in English even if you do not understand every word.

    This is another essential（基本的）point: it's not necessary {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(understand) every word. If you understand the {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(mean) of the sentence, each word is not necessarily important. Quite often, if a word is used several times in a text, you'll gradually get an idea of {#blank#}9{#/blank#} it means.

    Give it a try. If you like reading yon could open up {#blank#}10{#/blank#} whole new world of literature.

    Recently, an Internet slang word Foxi- or "Buddhist"- is becoming increasingly popular as it encourages people, especially {#blank#}1{#/blank#} young to remain calm and peaceful and avoid conflicts as much as possible- in other words, to live like a Buddha.

    The phrase {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (create) for the first time in 2014 in Japan to describe young men who no longer bother to start relationships with women or follow someone else's life path. They prefer to stay in their own peaceful world without {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (disturb) and care little about passion and success.

    In this fast-changing and {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (compete) world, many people are {#blank#}5{#/blank#} heavy pressure. It's only natural that people are seeking for a spiritual bay. However, some would compare "foxi" with "demotivational (无动力的) culture"- a phrase {#blank#}6{#/blank#}describes young people who feel aimless and powerless. They say that foxi actually reflects the reality {#blank#}7{#/blank#} young people are losing their will to fight. They are pretending {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (keep) a healthy and wise attitude towards failure simply because they are incapable(无能力的) of succeeding.

    All in all, there is one thing that "Buddhist Youngsters" should {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (basic) keep in mind: You may want to keep a calm mindset, {#blank#}10{#/blank#} you should never stop fighting for yourselves!

    In ancient Egypt, the pharaoh (法老) treated the message runner like a prince if he brought good news. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, if the exhausted runner had the misfortune to bring, his head was cut off. Shades of that spirit spread over today's conversations. Once a friend and I packed up some peanut butter and sandwiches in {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (prepare) for an outing. Everyone must give bad news from time to time, but big winners know they should share the feeling of the receiver when {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (deliver) any bad news. If my neighbor {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (tell) me of the upcoming rainstorm with {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sympathetic), I would have appreciated his warning. Big winners, when they bear bad news, deliver bombs with the emotion the bombarded (被轰炸) person is sure {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (have).
