Last week, I took a part in an English speech contest. There are twelve students in the final contest. I was one of the lucky student. Fifteen minutes after my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front all the judges and students, I was extreme nervous. Then I took a deep breath to relax me and started my speech. The result was not good, because I regarded it as a challenge, which process was the most important.

    Having learnt a lot from the contest, I am sure I will do it much well next time.

    Yesterday we went to Happiness Nursing House to help the old people. We set out earlier in the morning and brought them lots of gift. When we arrived, we were warmly welcome by them. First we introduced myself. Then we were making dumplings together with the old, talking and laugh. After lunch, we performed and sang songs with them happy. Finally all the old people say goodbye to us at the gate. We were very happy because of we did a good deed. I think this necessary for us teenagers to learn what to respect and take care of others, especially, the old.

    Visiting friends is one of the most common thing in our daily life. Usually, it is politely to call a friend before your visit, so close friends often drop in on each other without calling. Some people enjoy surprise visits from friends, but many people did not. In the USA, those people don't like surprise visits may tell his friends to call before they come. This is acceptable because the most people are very busy. Drop in at a busy time can cause problems for the person visiting and the person visited. It's a good idea to ask a friend if he or she mind your just dropping in without calling. What you aren't sure whether your friends welcome surprise visits, call first.

    Last Sunday I witnessed traffic accident on my way home. I was wandering down the sidewalk while I heard a loud noise. Two taxis crashed into each other about ten meter away. I went up and found the two drivers badly injured, bleeding or trapped in the taxis. Lucky, they were rescued in time because of people came to help them and called an ambulance. It was clear that the taxi drivers were such eager to take more passengers that they drive too fast. These drivers lacked responsibility for the safe of their passengers. What they did was dangerous for others as well as them.

Heard this, I felt very surprised but a little upset. At last, I accepted my mother's suggestion and promised to careful attend Nick.
