My dream home is a house made of glass and it has a garden. It is not far from the sea. It is a smart house with a library. There are one million books in it! There is a big 3­D TV in the living room. How cool it is to watch my favourite films with it! It is never too cold or too hot in the rooms. When I walk into a room, the lights are turned on. The house can keep itself clean.

    There is a garden in front of the house. Many flowers are in it. And there is also a small lake behind the house. At weekends, I can watch the fish swim around or do some fishing by the lake.

    The house is far from the city centre, but there is a mini airport (机场) in it so I can fly to other places in my mini plane if I want to go shopping or do some other things. Does the house sound cool? Maybe in 20 years, my dream will come true.

    Unlike most restaurants, the Enoteca Maria restaurant in New York offers only home-cooked food by grandmas coming from all over the world.

    Joe Scaravella, a 61-year-old Italian-American born and raised in New York, opened the restaurant in 2007. After losing almost all his family members, he tried to recreate the feeling of a home-cooked meal in his restaurant.

    He employed(雇佣) grandmas from different parts of Italy at first, and later, he began hiring grandmas from other countries like Argentina(阿根廷), Brazil, France and Greece. He built two kitchens in the restaurant: one for Italian grandmas to cook during lunchtime and the other for grandmas from other countries to cook every evening. The menus in the restaurant are often changing because what is being served depends on the grandmas who are on duty.

    The restaurant opens five days a week from Wednesday through Sunday. At present, there are more than 40 grandmas and a grandpa working in it. Most of them came to the US with their children, helping take care of their grandchildren. Scaravella gave them the chance to express themselves in a culinary(烹饪的) way.

    Enoteca Maria has received positive(正面的) reviews since its opening. Customers are impressed deeply by its delicious food, comfortable environment and most importantly, the grandmas who may remind them of their own.

    When my friend first arrived in Australia, he saw an old man selling some cheap goods(商品) in the street of Sydney. The old man was one of the poor people in Sydney and in fact there was no difference between them and beggars(乞丐). Most of them were some lonely old people. My friend was a kind hearted man, so he quickly gave some money to him. The old man asked him to pick some goods from him. My friend had no interest in those goods, so he left without choosing. But the old man followed him all the way.

    At first, my friend didn't think a lot, just thinking he would go home. But then when he went very far and saw the old man still following him, he was a little angry, thinking the old man must feel he was kind and wanted more money. My friend turned back and told him with sign language(手语) not to follow him because he didn't have much money.

    But the old man seemed not to understand, speaking something unknown and still following him. My friend happened to meet his Australian friend in the street. Hearing his story, his friend turned to ask why the old man was following his friend. The old man was out of breath, "My son, you gave me money, but you didn't want my things, so I have to give you something. I see you are a foreigner, likely not familiar(熟悉) with our city. I just want to follow you and show you the way. All I can do for you is this..."My friend was surprised. He said he didn't know why, but he felt the old man was just like his father, nice and warm.

In the early 20^th century, the first plane in the world came out. By the 1970s, many families in the UK had a car.
