    Dinosaurs(恐龙)once lived on the earth for a long time. They suddenly disappeared millions of years ago. What happened to them? That's still a mystery. People never stop searching for the answer.

    Some US scientists say it is because there were not enough male(雄性的)dinosaurs. They got this idea after researching crocodiles(鳄鱼).

    Mother crocodiles lay eggs and later baby crocodiles come out. The local temperature decides the sex(性别)of the baby crocodile. When the eggs are at a temperature of 26℃ to 30℃,the babies are all girls; when the temperature is 30℃ to 34℃,there are both boys and girls; when it is 34℃ to 36℃, only boys are born.

    Dinosaurs' babies also came from eggs. So scientists have given us a new picture: millions of years ago, it suddenly became very cold. Almost all dinosaur babies were girls. There were fewer and fewer male dinosaurs. Mother dinosaurs could not give birth to more babies. Finally, these powerful animals disappeared.

    You probably know you should say "please" and "thank you" at restaurants. You probably know the rules of a library. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Keep it down! You have to notice the volume (音量) of your music. You should not play your music so loud that everyone around you can hear it. Some people might even get angry.

Imagine you are listening to music on your MP3 player when someone asks you the way. {#blank#}4{#/blank#}, and you can still tell him the way with one earphone, and then put it back and continue listening to your music. You can also do this when you order food at a fast food restaurant or when you answer the telephone and it's not for you.

    The computer lab is just on the{#blank#}2{#/blank#}of the main entrance. You can enter computers by putting into the{#blank#}3{#/blank#}of your student ID card. There are{#blank#}4{#/blank#}copy machines in the library. The circulation desk on the left of the main entrance is a place to borrow and return books from general stacks. The reading area is in the middle of the library. A water fountain is between the{#blank#}5{#/blank#}and the cellphone area. They're all on the right.

    Sam hated doing chores. And he had many chores. For example, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays he took out' the rubbish. And on weekends he always washed his father's car. He also cleaned his own room once a week. Sometimes he even had to (1) look after "his little sister and brother.

    Sam had a foreign friend at school. His name was Kumar. Doing chores in Kumar's family was very different. In the house only the girl did chores. He asked Kumar, "Could I borrow your sisters?" He wanted them to help him clean his room, but (2) they said "no". Instead  (相反), they asked Sam to teach their brother how to do chores, so that he could make his own bed.

Sam and Kuimar are very good at science. They are going to be scientists after university. They want to make a robot to do the chores. Then everyone一mothers and fathers, sons and daughters- will be happy!
