    This afternoon, I was going home after school while I heard someone nearby crying. I looked around and found a boy sit on the ground. I was wondering that had happened to him.     It was March 8th, Women's Day. I decided to do something for my mom and give her a surprise.

    Immediately after school, I went to the supermarket, when I bought plenty of vegetables, fish and meat. As soon as I arrived home, I started to prepare the dinner for Mom. It was the first time that I had cooked something on my own. Not knowing the exactly process to cook. I read some recipes first. Keep what I had learned in mind, I got down with cooking. Almost an hour later, three simple but delicious dishes were ready on the table.

    Since Mom couldn't get home until thirty minutes later, I started to do some cleaning. It was not difficult for me. Mopping thoroughly , the floor was quite clean.

    No sooner had everything been ready Mom came back. I couldn't wait to show what I had been done for her. A big smile with both surprise and satisfy spread on Mom's face when she found the hearty（丰盛的）dinner and the tidy room. At that moment, pride rose from a bottom of my heart. Although she fell a little tired, everything was worthwhile.

    It is universal accepted that filial duty (孝道) is an important virtue in China. It means respecting and caring parents and the elderly. Take my parents for an example, after my grandma passed away last year, my parents spent much more time chat with my grandpa, going out for a walk with him and cooking him delicious food. At first，my grandpa seemed to be happy. And as time went by, he became uneasy, because he was not used to leading so a comfortable life. Therefore，my parents encouraged him to join in some activity in our community. They also encouraged her to go to a drawing class in a school for the old, which gave my grandpa a great sense of achievement. He becomes very happy again.

    My parents set a good example to me. In my opinion, the real filial duty is giving the old that they really need.
