    Last weekend's concert, organized and performing by the students of the Welsh Community College, was great success. The student had been practicing for months for the concert. They were excited that when they heard Gareth Jones was coming to present the prizes. Over 100 young performers play a mixture of jazz, classical or folk music. One of the highlights were 14-year-old Megan Evans, playing traditional Welsh folk songs. The concert ended with a very loud pop tune and anyone in the hall stood up and danced with the music. It was a magically atmosphere and a wonderful evening.

    One of my favorite comedian is George Burns. George began to work in theaters in 1906. In 1923 he started a comedy team with a woman named Gracie, that later became his wife. They were both became big stars, first on the stage and then on radio and TV. However, when Gracie had to stop his work in 1958 because of illness, George nearly disappeared from view.

    Then in 1975, George won a Academy Award for his excellent performance in a film called “The Sunshine Boys”. Not had seen his previous work, millions of young men still became his fans. Everyone had great affection to this little man with a cigar. George stayed very actively when he was in his 90s. He even promised to give a special concert on his 100^th birthday. However, in 1994, he fall in the bathtub and hurt himself. After that, his health never recovered. In 1996, the news he passed away made millions of Americans sad.

    This is the first time that I had been away from home, so I find it hard to live here. How I wish I could turn to Lucy, who once gave me much help! I had trouble with my study in Grade 9. So discouraging was I that I began to play computer games after school, when I should have paid more attention to catching up with others. Besides, I was even caught cheat in the exam, it worried my parents a lot. When asking about the reason why I fell far behind, I was too guilty to say a word. It was then that Lucy came to my help, telling me not give up. To my amaze, I made a great progress. Finally, I even became one of the top student in my class. I must say thanks to Lucy, without whose help, I could never have had so good grades.

    Most people today are only worried about get good jobs to make lots of money. In our free time, they think about what to do for fun. However, few people think about what they can do help others. There are many people which are less lucky than us. Volunteering our time to help these people is the good way to spend our free time. For example, we can make plans to visit sick child in the hospital or raise money for homeless people. Some people even stopped their jobs for a few of months to a year to move to another place, unlike one of the countries in Africa, but help people there.
