Jackie Chan was born in Hong Kong, China, on April 7th, 1954. His parents left the mainland of China 1 Hong Kong a short time before he was born. His parents named him "Chan Kongsang"   , 2 means "born in Hong Kong"   . They wanted to celebrate a 3 trip to Hong Kong.

    At first, Jackie's family lived in the French Embassy(大使馆). His 4 was a cook, and his mother was a housekeeper. When Jackie was seven years old, his family moved to Australia. His father got a job in the American Embassy. Later, back in Hong Kong, Jackie's father 5him to the China Drama Academy(戏剧学院). Jackie studied and worked 19 hours a day. The students 6 kung fu and learned how to do many stunts(特技表演) there.

    When he was 17, he began to do 7 stunts for films. In the early 1980s, he went to Hollywood, but he wasn't very 8. He went on to make films in Hong Kong and had great success. Finally, in 1995, he became 9 in the USA. Today, he has 10 Chinese and American fans, and earns millions of dollars from his films.

    Once, in a small village, lived a family with eight children. Two of the children loved1very much, but the family was so poor that2was impossible to send them to study at the art college at the same time. After many discussions, the two boys finally3a plan. They would throw a coin. The loser would4down into the coal mines (煤矿) and used the money that he would make in the mines to support his brother5at the college. Then, when the brother who won finished his studies, after four years, he would support6brother studying at the college.

    James won and Jack went down into the mines. James studied with all his heart and his paintings were much better than7of most of his teachers, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning8a lot of money for his paintings.

    9James returned, the family held a big dinner for his great success. Soon after the meal began, James 10up from his seat to drink a toast(敬酒) to his dear11 He said, "Jack, now you can go to the art college and your dream 12true. I will take care of you."

    But Jack said13 "Brother, the four years in the mines has done too much to my hands, so it's too late. Now I can't even hold a glass. "

    To show his great love and respect, James drew his brother's hands 14fingers towards the sky.

    One morning，Sue was riding her bike to school. She was late，so she decided to take a short cut（捷径）. But she made a mistake and1into a one-way street. The street was not very2.     Mickey was a nice, cheerful and optimistic （乐观的）boy. No one could remember ever having seen him angry; he didn't mind  1  people said to him. Even his teachers2his good character. Everyone thought that Mickey must have a special3.

    One afternoon, Mickey invited his favorite teacher, Mr Anthony, to tea. When they had finished, Mickey showed Mr Anthony4the house. When he opened his bedroom door, the teacher got 5 and a big smile appeared on his face. The huge far wall was a collage （抽象拼贴画）of thousands of colors and shapes!

    "Some people at school think I never think6of anyone.Mickey started to explain," they believe nothing troubles me,7that's not true. I'm just like anyone else. I used to get8than all the other kids. But years ago, with the help of my parents, I started a small collage. I could use9material and color for it."

    The teacher looked closely at the wall. In each one of the small pieces he could10, in tiny letters, "fool", "11" and a thousand other negative （消极的）things.

    "This is how I started12all my bad times into a chance to make a new piece for my work of art. Now I like the collage13much that each time someone makes me angry, I couldn't be happier."

    That day they14many things, but the teacher never forgot that an ordinary boy's secret to be happy is to change the bad times into a15to smile. How special the secret is!

    One day an angel (天使) came across three peas. She said she could help each of them 1 a dream.

    The first pea wanted to fly in the sky, and the second one's 2 was to swim in the sea. The third one said it had been 3 going to a place where it could bring happiness to others. The angel 4 them where they wanted to go. The first pea fell onto the5 after a long flight and was eaten by a hen. The second one sank into the sea and had to stay in the darkness alone all its life. The third one flew into a flower pot (花盆) whose 6 was a poor little girl. Having been ill for a long time, she was very 7 and couldn't go outside.

    One day, when the girl was walking as usual in the house, she 8 a small pea plant in the flower pot. 9 the plant only had two tiny leaves, it seemed to be cheerful. When a light 10 came, it danced and seemed to be encouraging the girl to cheer up. "I will grow up like this plant and I will be better soon," she said in a confident voice. From then on, the girl stayed beside the little pea plant, watched it and talked with it. Day by day the plant grew taller and taller, and 11 the little girl became better and better.
