Many people living in cities see riding a bicycle as good exercise. But, a recent medical  research warned that cyclists should think twice before cycling in the streets: it actually does more harm than good  their bodies.

Is cycling in cities really bad for your health? Probably yes. The main danger comes from the air around you. Breathing  in air pollution from taxis and buses can damage blood vessels(血管).Scientists say the damage could outweigh the health benefits of cycling.

David Newby, a British  researcher at Edinburgh University broke the news. In his tests, 15 healthy men cycled  on exercise bikes in a room with levels of air pollution similar to those found  on a crowded city street. After an hour of cycling, the scientists found their blood vessels became less flexible and produced less of a protein(蛋白质) the heart needs. The damage leads to the early stages of heart disease. What's worse, the faster a cyclist pedals (蹬车), more air they breathe in. So those who believe  they are improving their fitness the most are storing up the biggest trouble for .

In much of Asia, especially the so-called “rice bowl” cultures of China, Japan, Singapore, Korea, {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Vietnam, food is usually eaten with chopsticks.

Chopsticks are usually two long, thin pieces of wood or bamboo. They can also be made of plastic, animal bone or metal. Sometimes chopsticks are quite artistic. Truly elegant chopsticks might {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (make) of gold and silver with Chinese characters. Skilled workers also combine(使……结合)different kinds of hardwoods and metal {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (create) special designs.

The Chinese have used chopsticks for five thousand years. People probably cooked their food in large pots, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (use) twigs(树枝)to remove it. Over time, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the population grew, people began cutting food into small pieces so it would cook more quickly. Food in small pieces could be eaten easily with twigs which {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (gradual) turned into chopsticks.

Some people think that the great Chinese scholar Confucius, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} lived from roughly 551 to 479 B.C., influenced(影响)the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (develop) of chopsticks. Confucius believed knives would remind people of killing and {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (be) too violent for use at the table.

Chopsticks are not used everywhere in Asia. In India, for example, most people traditionally eat {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their hands.

Just like every technological advancement, the next is set to be a huge deal, and such is the case for 5G.The wireless technology {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (expect) to power self-driving cars, virtual reality, smart {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (city), and networked robots. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (research) from King's College London who have joined with Ericsson (ERIC) to dream up futuristic applications for 5G have looked at everything from music {#blank#}4{#/blank#} medicine.

The team is working towards using {#blank#}5{#/blank#} technology to transfer physical skills across networks and creating what they are calling the “Internet of Skills”. “With 5G and the new networking architecture we're building, we're hoping to get this delay down to just the speed of light,” said Mischa Dohler, a professor of wireless communications at King's College.

Furthermore, 5G will {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hopeful) allow a surgeon with virtual reality equipment {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (work) on the other side of the world via a robot. They will use haptic (触觉的) gloves, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} will allow the surgeon to sense motion and pressure when {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (operate) on a patient and can get instant feedback via the gloves.

Meanwhile, Dohler does not expect this to happen overnight and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (believe) it could take the “Internet of Skills” another decade before it is fully functional.

There are several reasons why school uniforms are good idea. First of all, uniforms help the school look smart. The students feel that they belong to a particular group. When every pupil in the school wears the uniform, nobody {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (have) to worry about fashion(时尚). Everybody wears{#blank#}2{#/blank#} same style of clothes. Uniforms can be useful in unexpected ways, A school in Ireland has introduced an interesting new uniform. On the edge of the jacket, there is a piece of cloth {#blank#}3{#/blank#}gives off light in the dark. When the children are walking or {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (cycle) to school on dark mornings, car drivers can {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (easy) see them.

But can uniforms help improve school standards? The answer {#blank#}6{#/blank#} this question is not clear. One study in America found that students' grades {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (improve) a little after the school introduced uniforms. But some students didn't want {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (wear) the uniform. Other American studies showed no {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(connect) between uniforms and school performance.

School uniforms are {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (tradition) in Britain, but some schools are starting to get rid of them. Some very good schools don't have a uniform policy. However, uniforms are still popular. Pupils at about 90 percent of British secondary schools wear uniforms.
