Around twenty years ago I was living in York. Although I had a lot of experience and a Master's degree, I could not find {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(satisfy) work.

    I was driving a school bus to make ends meet and living with a friend of {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(me), for I had lost my flat. I had attended five interviews with a company and one day between bus runs, they called to say I did not get the job. "Why has my life become so hard?" I thought {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(pain).

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I pulled the bus over to drop off a little girl, she handed me an earring {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(say) that I should keep it in case somebody claimed it. The earring {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (paint) black and said "BE HAPPY".

    At first I got angry. Then it hit me — I had been {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(give) all of my attention to what was going wrong with my life rather than what was right! I decided then and there to make a list of fifty things I was happy with. Later, I decided to add more things to the list. That night there was a phone call for me {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a lady who was a director at a larger hospital. She asked me {#blank#}9{#/blank#} I would give a one-day lecture on stress {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(manage) to 200 medical workers. I said yes.

    My day there went very well, and before long I got a well-paid job. To this day I know that it was because I changed my way of thinking that I completely changed my life.

    One of my main concerns when I am helping people achieve their goals {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) how they measure success . I see individuals getting  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (frustrate) as they struggle hard for success.

    The main reason is that people allow their definition of success to be determined by someone or something else. We should look at {#blank#}3{#/blank#} own skills to determine what is successful to us. We should look inwards to determine {#blank#}4{#/blank#} it would mean for us to be successful in our own mind.

    Evaluating a successful person needs {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (look) at his pathway to success, his action and his{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (determine). You must set your own course of action, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} stay on your course. You alone must determine what success means to you. Do what you do to the best of your ability and the rest will take care of itself.

    Here is the {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (true). Being a success is doing your best, not being the best. Success is not something you become, but it is something you continue being.

    When we get to that point, we will experience a lot more joy and a lot less depression. And that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sound) good to us!

    Traditional Chinese culture is beginning to capture the attention of the world. Kung fu,{#blank#}1{#/blank#} (especial), has had a great effect {#blank#}2{#/blank#}the millions of people who first learned about China through it. From that, they may come to China and learn about some other {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(aspect) of this culture. Other Asian nations have long known about the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(great) of ancient Chinese culture. Their own cultures are {#blank#}5{#/blank#}mix of native ones and those Chinese characteristics. Korea and Japan long ago adopted Confucianism (孔子学说）, something that continues today even as it {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(challenge) by pop culture . This strength comes from the ideas {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (give) in the Four Books of Confucianism, which built upon the ideas of an even {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(much) ancient period codified (编纂) in the Five Classics . From them, the West learns {#blank#}9{#/blank#} is uniquely Chinese, for example, feng shui. So far China has taken steps {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(further) this spread of its culture by establishing Chinese Cultural Centers in such places as the United States and Europe.

    Just like every technological advancement, the next is set to be a huge deal, and such is the case for 5G.The wireless technology {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (expect) to power self-driving cars, virtual reality, smart {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (city), and networked robots. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (research) from King's College London who have joined with Ericsson (ERIC) to dream up futuristic applications for 5G have looked at everything from music {#blank#}4{#/blank#} medicine.

    The team is working towards using {#blank#}5{#/blank#} technology to transfer physical skills across networks and creating what they are calling the “Internet of Skills”. “With 5G and the new networking architecture we're building, we're hoping to get this delay down to just the speed of light,” said Mischa Dohler, a professor of wireless communications at King's College.

    Furthermore, 5G will {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (hopeful) allow a surgeon with virtual reality equipment {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (work) on the other side of the world via a robot. They will use haptic (触觉的) gloves, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} will allow the surgeon to sense motion and pressure when {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (operate) on a patient and can get instant feedback via the gloves.

Meanwhile, Dohler does not expect this to happen overnight and {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (believe) it could take the “Internet of Skills” another decade before it is fully functional.

    Wang Kun and Wang Wei are brother and sister. They have dreamed of {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(take) a great bike trip. Wang Wei persuaded his sister {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(buy) an expensive mountain bike. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}was Wang Wei who first had the idea to cycle along the Mekong River. They {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(ride) bicycles to travel along the Mekong River, whose source is in Qinghai Province. When it {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(enter) Southeast Asia, it travels slowly through hills and low valleys and the plains where rice grows. During {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(they) journey, they enjoyed the continuous change of the weather. Finally, they reached Dali in Yunnan Province, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}Daowei and Yu Hang joined them.
