Linda and Laura were very excited because it would be their mother's birthday next Monday．Their mother loved {#blank#}1{#/blank#}and she knew a lot about them．On Thursday,the two girls pretended(假装)that they were going out to buy eggs and bread with their father．{#blank#}2{#/blank#}，they went to the plant store where their mother often went．With their father's help，they {#blank#}3{#/blank#}a plant with beautiful flowers．They were sure their mother would like {#blank#}4{#/blank#}．

    However,no one{#blank#}8{#/blank#}watering the plant over the next few days．They just treated(对待)the plant{#blank#}9{#/blank#}any other gift．When their mother's birthday came，they opened the box and found a dead(枯萎的)plant with dry flowers，but it still{#blank#}10{#/blank#}their mother happy．

    A bird went to look for its happiness in a faraway place．

    It flew and flew when it suddenly saw a little dying flower，whose face was full of smile．Not knowing why，the bird asked the little flower，"You're going to die．Why are you still so1？"

    "Because I will achieve my dream，"said the little flower．

    "2 is your dream？"

    "To produce sweet fruit．"

    Then the little bird saw it：happiness is a3in the heart．

    The bird continued flying and saw a lame duck help a little duck find the way back home．Although it was disabled，it had a smiling face．

    "I'm happy because I can help4 ， "said the lame duck．

    So the bird saw it：happiness is a love in the heart．

    The bird kept flying and suddenly saw a spider climbing up a wall．The spider fell off the wall halfway，5it kept climbing again and fell off again．Even so，the spider didn't 6 ． The little bird asked the spider in surprise，"you 7again and again，why don't you have pain but happiness on your face？"

    "As long as I keep making my 8 ， I'm able to climb up it．9this，I'm so happy，"said the spider．

    The little bird saw it：happiness is a faith（信念） in the heart．

    So the little bird10 looked for happiness because it had seen the truth：happiness is not in the faraway place but in your own heart．

Hearing is very important to all of us. We can hear many different kinds of sounds in the world with our ears such as beautiful music and nice song of birds. However, a report shows that more than half the people in the United States older than age 75 have some hearing loss. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} The following will tell you about how to protect ears.

Don't listen to too loud music. Listening to loud music a lot can be bad for your ears, especially when headphones（耳机）are used. Stop to give your ears a rest if you like wearing headphones. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

Try to use earplugs（耳塞）to help you. For example, before swimming, it's a good idea to put earplugs in to your ears. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}When you are in a noisy environment, wear earplugs to protect your ears from the terrible noise.

Mr and Mrs Brown are going to have a vacation. Miss Green，a travel agent（旅行代理人），has made a full schedule(日程) for them. They arrive in Chicago on July 3rd and stay there for three days. It's two nights and three days altogether. They have plenty of time for shopping and sightseeing.（看风景）

Then they are leaving for（动身去） New York City at 11：30 a.m. on July 5th by train. They have accommodations（住宿） for two nights at the New York Sheraton on 7th Avenue. After that，they are visiting Washington. They have two days there before they fly to Montreal. There's a meal served （提供）on that flight. They can have some sandwiches and desserts（甜点），and of course the usual beverages（饮料）：coffee，tea or soft drinks. They will have a good time in Montreal，too. It's a full schedule（日程表），but they'll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy themselves.

Hi! My name is Grace.  I'm a student in Sunshine Middle School.  My school is beautiful.  There are 2,000 students and teachers in my school. 

I'm in Class Five Grade Seven.  My classroom is on the second floor of the classroom building.  There are forty desks and forty chairs in our classroom.  You can also see a big desk.  The big desk is for our teachers. 

There is a small office next to my classroom.  There are three desks and three chairs.  They are for Mr.  Wang, Mr.  Zhang and Mr.  Li.  Mr.  Wang is our Chinese teacher.  Mr.  Zhang is our English teacher and Mr.  Li is our math teacher.
