A long time ago，some farmers lived in a small village.And there was a farmer1 had four sons.

    The farmer raised the four boys on his own.He hoped that his sons could learn not2 opinions about things too quickly.So he gave his four sons 3 question in turn asking them to go to see a pear tree at a distance in different seasons.The sons promised they would not let their father 4.

    The first son5 out in the winter，the second in the spring，the third in the summer，and the youngest in the autumn.

    One year passed.When all of them returned home，the farmer called them together to describe6they had seen.

    The first son said the tree was7bent and distorted.It wasn't worth seeing at all.And it seemed that it wouldn't bear any fruit，8.

    The second son said it was not like that. But the tree was covered9 green buds and made people feel full of hope.

    The third son disagreed，saying that it was full of flowers which smelled so sweet and 10 so beautiful.And he had never seen such beautiful scene that everyone would love it.

    The last son disagreed with all of them，saying that it 11 with fruit，full of life and content.People would be satisfied with it.

    At last，the four sons'eyes were fixed12 their father.The father smiled.Then he told his four  sons that13 they were all correct，they only saw the tree in one season.He told his sons that14 could not judge a tree or a person only by one season，and that the essence of a person could only be measured when all the seasons 15 over.

    If you just give up in winter，you will miss the hope of spring，the beauty of

summer and the harvest of autumn in your life.

    There was a farmer named Hafiz in Africa who was happy. He was happy because he was satisfied with his life.

    One day a wise man came to him and told him about 1of diamonds and the power that goes along them .

    The wise man said" if you had a diamond the size of your finger, you could have your own city.If you had a diamond of the size of your fist, you could2own your own country." And then he went3.That night the farmer couldn't sleep .He was 4and he was discontent .The next morning he made arrangements to sell off his farm and went in search of diamonds. He looked all over Africa and Europe but couldn't5any.When he got to Spain, he was emotionally, physically and financially broke. He got so6 that threw himself into the Barcelona River and died.

    Back home, the person who had bought his 7 was watering the sheep at a stream. Across the stream, the light of the morning sun hit a stone and make it sparkle like a rainbow.He picked up the store and put it in the living room.

    That afternoon the wise man came and saw the stone sparkling. He asked," Is Hafiz 8？" The new owner said, "No, why do you ask so？"The wise man said，"Because that is a diamond. I recognize one when I see one." The man said, "No, that's just a stone I9 .Come ,I'll show you there are many more."They went and picked some samples  and send them for analysis . Sure enough, the stones were diamonds. They found that the farm was10mountains of diamonds .

    Rose didn't see her school IC card at lunch time. She asked her classmates and looked for it everywhere. But she couldn't 1 it. Later, one girl said that she saw Kate take a card from Rose's desk. So Rose got very 2. When she met Kate in the afternoon, Rose 3, "You have stolen(偷) my card! "Hearing this, Kate began to cry, "No, no, I didn't steal it! I only took it by4." But Rose didn't think so and they began to fight.

    Just then a teacher came up and 5 what had happened. Kate told the whole story. She said her pen pal came to see her in the morning. She was so 6 that she took the card carelessly. While being abroad, I have tried to collect small things, and I have been taking lots of photos. I have my {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(自己的) map and I have circled all of my favourite restaurants, cafes, parks and other places on it. I have even coloured it to show whether it's {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(可能的) for me to have free Wi-Fi or lunch at these places. I plan to make a scrapbook {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(用……) all these things.

"Scrapbook" is an empty book. People usually take it away with them on holiday, and fill it with "scraps" of {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(邮票),tickets, maps, photos, etc. You will always have the memories (记忆) of your favourite places and why you liked them so much. So it is really {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(有价值的) to have it. If you ever want to {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(返回) to that place, you can get some information from it. My scrapbook started in last {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(9 月).And now, eight months later, it is {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(几乎;差不多) full!

You can't {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(想象;设想) how happy you can be by just looking at an old ticket with a special {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(日期) on, or a napkin from your favourite restaurant. It's the little things that can make you smile.

The editor of the school newspaper was leaving so the paper would need a new editor. Hearing the news, Tara knew it was her 1 .

Tara had always wanted to improve the paper. Unluckily, most students cared little about 2 . There were not any nice pictures, but the real 3 was that the stories couldn't attract the kids.

The editorial team created a questionnaire to know what students were 12 . The sales team visited many local businesses. By the end of the week, things were going well. The group gathered again for further improvement. 

They came up with a 13 idea—create an online paper with more cool pictures and even videos. Everyone couldn't wait to have a try. 

The big day finally came. The group presented the paper at the meeting. When it was time to vote, every hand in the room went up for 14 their ideas. 

"Well done, students." Mr. Alvarez said to Tara's group. "Your 15 really works."
