Mr. White lost his job last week. It was difficult for him to find another 1. Somebody told Mr. White that he 2 get a job in a town two hundred kilometers 3, so he decided to get there 4. He went to the railway station and got 5 a train. He was the only one in the train. The train started. Suddenly, a man came in 6 a gun (枪) and said to him. “Your money 7 your life?” Mr. White was afraid and sat there without 8 up.

    “I 9 any money,” Mr. White answered.

    “Then why are you so afraid of me?” The man asked angrily.

    “Because I  10 you were the conductor (售票员). I didn't buy a ticket,” answered Mr. White.

    As a young man, Al was a famous artist with his wife and two fine sons. One night, his elder son had a bad stomachache. Thinking it was only some1trouble, neither Al and his wife took the condition very seriously. But the boy died suddenly that night.

    Knowing the child could have been2if he had only realized the seriousness of the situation, he always felt he was guilty (负罪感). To make matters worse, his wife 3him a short time later, leaving him alone with his six-year-old younger son. The hurt and 4of the two situations were more than Al could stand, and he was used to drinking alcohol (酒精) for 5. In time Al became an alcoholic.

Drinking too much alcohol, Al began to lose 6he owned—his land, house, money, etc. Finally Al died alone in a small bar. Hearing of Al's7, I thought, “What a wasted life! What a complete failure!”

    As time went by, I knew Al's now adult son, Ernie. He is one of the8, most caring, most loving men I have ever known. I saw the9between Ernie and his children, thinking that kindness and caring had to come from somewhere.

    I hadn't heard Ernie talk much about his father. One day, I tried to ask him what his father had done so that he became such a special person. Ernie said quietly, “ As a 10until I left home at eighteen, my father came into my room every night, gave me a kiss and said, ‘Love you, son.'”

    11-year-old Jerome is good1running. He usually wins all of the races at Serpentine Primary School in Australia. However, after giving up2 a recent school race, the boy has won hearts of3 people. In the race, the kind boy ran back to walk with his good friend Seth and let him4the finishing line first.

    10-year-old Seth was born with cerebral palsy (脑瘫). Since he moved to the school last year, he5a lot of problems at school. Luckily, Jerome6to help him by the teachers with things like going to the toilet and showing him around. The two boys soon became good friends

    Because of his7Seth has a big head, some students laugh at his appearance. Jerome usually has a word with Tom, asking them 8that. Seth's father can't thank Jerome enough for looking after his son. "He is9 good kid." The two boys' story has spread quickly after Jerome's mother Susan shared it on social media. "These boys are champions10they didn't win," said the proud mother.

    My mum works on Saturdays, so every Saturday my aunt, Jenny, takes me somewhere interesting. For example, once she took me to the sea museum, and then she made me do a project (专题研究) about my favourite 1.

    Last Saturday, Jenny took me to an old people's home. She was a volunteer there, so she 2 went there in her free time. There were a lot of old people there. Jenny introduced 3 to some of them. Then she asked me if I would like to read the newspaper to them. I was glad to do that. I read 4 so they could hear me. They said my reading was excellent. I felt really 5.

    One day, when a successful businessman opened the door of his car, a dog sleeping 1his car suddenly came out and bit (咬) his leg!  He threw a stone at the dog,2he was not able to hit it. How angry he was!

    Upon3his office, the businessman called a meeting of the workers. He took out his anger(愤怒) on them. Gradually, the businessman's anger4the company.

    The businessman was still angry after returning home. His wife asked him, "Why are you so late today?" The man5, "I didn't go to the office to play soccer. I went to work. So don't ask such stupid questions!"

    His wife was troubled about being shouted at6. She turned her anger on their son who was watching TV. "This is all you do. You have no 7 in studying!  Turn off the TV now!" she shouted.

    The son became8as well. He walked out of his house and saw a dog passing by. He picked up a stone and threw it at the dog9. The dog ran away, barking(犬吠) in pain.

    Sometimes, when we are angry about something, we might take out our anger on 10. We should learn to control our anger.
