Last night I was driving from Harrisburg to Lewisburg, a distance of about 80 miles. It was late, I was late, and I was driving 1.

    At one point along an open highway, I came to a crossroads with a traffic light. I was 2 on the road by now, but as I came near the light, it turned 3, and I braked to a stop. I looked left, right, and behind me. Nothing. Not a car, no suggestion of headlights, 4 there I sat, waiting for the light to 5, the only human being, for at least a mile in any 6.

    I started wondering why I 7 to run the light.  I was not afraid of being caught, because there was 8 no policeman anywhere around and there certainly would have been no 9 in going through it.

    Much later that 10, after I'd met with a group in Lewisburg and had climbed into bed near midnight, the question of why I'd stopped for that light 11 me. I think I stopped 12 it's part of a contract (契约) we all have with each other. It's not only the law, but it's an agreement we have, and we trust each other to follow 13: we don't go through red lights.

    We do 14 we say we'll do. We show up when we say we'll show up.

    I was so 15 of myself for stopping for that red light. And as no one would ever have known what a good person I was on the road from Harrisburg to Lewisburg, I had to tell someone.

    A king loved music. One day, a man 1 the king a harp (竖琴). When the king played it,   the harp sounded terrible. Many people tried it. They agreed that the harp was useless. It was thrown out as rubbish.

    A little girl found the harp. She didn't know how to 2 it. She decided to have a try. She played day and night. The music was never perfect,  3 each time it sounded a little better.

    One day, the harp started to produce beautiful music. In fact, it was a 4 harp. It could be played well by someone if he put in enough effort (努力).

    The king called the girl to the palace. When he saw that she was playing the old harp. He was filled with joy. He made the girl his own private 5.

    Last year I went to Australia to study and travel. I stayed in Sydney for three months. I visited places of1in the morning and took English lessons in the afternoon. A friend and I stayed in a host family in Sydney. The family were very2to us. We talked about a lot of things with each other in English.

    My spoken English improved 3in Australia. I used to speak little English in China, 4 in Australia I had to use it very often. I was soon able to5with my teachers and host family in English freely. To me, the best place in Australia is the Sydney Opera House（歌剧院）. You can look at it from different sides. It is beautiful to look at. I cannot sing very well, but6I was inside, I really wanted to sing.

    Time7 while I was in Sydney. Soon Christmas came, then the New Year. I had to spend the New Year8my parents. I felt a little lonely. I missed them so much. In the evening, I9my family. When I heard 10voices, I began to cry. My host mother held me in her arms and comforted（安慰）me.

    Like most July days, it was hot. I 1into a coffee shop to drink a cup of black coffee, It was a nice and small store with little round tables and chairs.

    As I entered, I found a very old woman bent over a table near the door. Her back was so badly twisted (扭曲) by some sadness that her face nearly 2 the tabletop. I sat down facing her two 3 away.

    "Poor woman," I thought." Why does God let people live so long past their prime (盛年)?"

    As I thought, another aged lady entered the shop and sat down with her. 4the two of them were talking about childhood days. They talked of how little the shop had 5 in 70 years. In minutes, the two of them were shaking with laughter. I looked again at the first woman, then in the mirror on a nearby wall, 6 a picture of myself.

    I was wearing a7 shirt.

    She was well dressed in white, with gold rings on her fingers.

    I was in 8 spirits. She was laughing and smiling. I was making my 9 come true. She had millions of wonderful 10 to recall(回忆).

    She was 11 the day with a good friend. I was 12worried about getting old. She was old, but it wasn't hurting her.

    As I left the shop, I 13 my foolish questions about God letting people live past their prime. Why, that woman was more 14 and more sensitive(敏锐的). Age has not bent her spirit. But I am always filling my mind with something 15. Maybe one day, I won't.
