In my family, there {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(be) three people. My father is a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (farm) and goes to work in the field every day. He isn't good at {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (talk) but he gets on well with other people. My mother is very kind and is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (friend) to everybody. So when I have {#blank#}5{#/blank#} problem I will turn{#blank#}6{#/blank#} her for help. My friends say I am clever, because when the teacher asks {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (we) very difficult questions, I can come up with the answers {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (quick). But my father thinks I am not patient. He says once I have difficulty in {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (solve) problems, I will {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (easy) give up. This is what I need to improve in the future.

    We high school students do have some growing pains, but we can get rid of them correctly and wisely.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}, some of us are upset {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their body styles and looks. It's unnecessary and it's not important at all. We needn't care about it. It is one's inner beauty {#blank#}3{#/blank#} matters. Second, we sometimes seem to be misunderstood {#blank#}4{#/blank#} our teachers, parents and classmates.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (face) with this, we can find a proper time to have a heart-to-heart talk with them, trying to remove the{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (understand). Some of us have fewer friends. I think being open-minded and{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (friend) will do you good .Third, we may fall behind others, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} makes us stressed. Actually we can encourage {#blank#}9{#/blank#} to work efficiently, full of determination. At last, some of us don't have much pocket money, so they feel unhappy. Isn't it strange? So long as we have some, that's enough. And we can learn {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to spend money!

    Students at Shady Side are exposed to a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} curriculum in a safe and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} environment; the joy of learning becomes their bridge to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} lifelong learners.

    In the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of this journey they are provided an experience in Kindergarten {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Twelfth Grade, {#blank#}6{#/blank#} enables them to mature academically, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}, emotionally and socially. As they walk down the halls during their years together at Shady Side, our boys and girls—so soon to become men and women—are learning to think, to work, to question, to be {#blank#}8{#/blank#} and responsible, to relate with others, to laugh {#blank#}9{#/blank#} their mistakes and to act graciously when success {#blank#}10{#/blank#} their way.

Living in a city can be stressful. But people in Bogota, Colombia have found a place to help ease stress and get a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(peace) break from busy life. The place is a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(protect) park for hummingbirds(蜂鸟).

The park is at the top of Montserrat Hill. The area{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (contain) a forest which has turned into a quiet place for both people and birds. As the hummingbirds fly from flower to flower, some people take pictures with cameras or phones.

"Sometimes it doesn't seem real because we are close to{#blank#}4{#/blank#} city with the population of 8 million,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} create noise every day," said Camino Carter, a caretaker in the park. His job is{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(mix) water and sugar that is put in bird feeders.

{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(visitor) to the park can see between 25 to 35 different species of birds. But ten years ago, the hill was {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (complete) destroyed, and no trees {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(leave) on it.

Luckily, measures were taken by the government. Workers began to replant local trees and flowers to bring the forest back{#blank#}10{#/blank#} life.

Presently, there are 115 species of birds, including 18 kinds of hummingbirds in the park.

For much of history, reading was a fairly noisy activity. Today, however, the majority of us bottle the words in our heads as if {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(sit) in a library.

Recent studies provide ample evidence {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the ancient art of reading aloud has a number of benefits, from helping improve our memories {#blank#}3{#/blank#}strengthening emotional bonds between people.

According to a research on the impacts of reading on memory, people consistently remember words and texts {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(well) if reading them aloud than if reading them silently. This phenomenon has been named the "production effect", which means that producing {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(write) words-namely, reading them out loud-improves our memory of them. Even just silently mouthing the words makes {#blank#}6{#/blank#} more memorable.

One reason why people remember the spoken words better is that it gives us {#blank#}7{#/blank#} additional basis for memory. We are {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(general) better at recalling events that require active involvement. For instance, producing a word in {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(respond) to a question makes it easier to remember.

In time when our interactions with others and the large amount of information we take in {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(be) all too transient (转瞬即逝的) , perhaps it is worth making bit more time for reading out loud.
