    Have you ever counted the number of digits (数字) in your mobile phone number? Your number has 11 digits. You may sometimes find it hard to remember your number. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} Why is that?

    The 11 digits can be divided into three parts. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} The first three numbers tell you which mobile phone service provider you are using. For example, 135 is for the China Mobile Communication Corporation and 188 is for China Unicom. The fourth to the seventh digits tell you which area the number is recorded in. And the last four digits are random (随机的).

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#} We once had 10 numbers. But as our population grew, there were not enough numbers for us to use. So we began to use 11 digits starting from 1999.

    Eleven digits can be used to make tens of billions of mobile phone numbers, according to the Xinhua News Agency. That's enough for each person to have seven or eight phone numbers to use in China. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Usually, the service provider will reuse a canceled number after three to six months. If you call a number that you haven't contacted (联络) for a long time, you may find that its owner has changed.

    Besides China, Britain and Japan also use 11-digit mobile phone numbers. But their numbers always start with. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} Countries like the United States, Australia and India use phone numbers with 10 digits. Canada's mobile phone numbers are perhaps the world's shortest: they use seven digits.

    Is your life ruled by love or by fear? Love and fear are two opposite feelings that shape our life in very different ways. Most of us are controlled by both of them. However, even a tiny change towards love and away from fear can bring more happiness. Here are some suggestions towards love.

    Cultivate Gratitude(培养感恩之心)

    Gratitude makes us feel happier. If you remember to be thankful for the blessings(赐福)of your life, you will feel more connected to yourself and others. When you let worries go and have gratitude instead, love appears quickly.

    Test the Reality of Fear

    Sometimes fear can be like a cloud that keeps out the sunlight. A simple way to deal with fear is to test its reality. Write down three things that you're afraid of. Then look at each point and ask yourself,  "Is this fear really grounded(基于) in reality? "I know when I do this, I often find that fears aren't reasonable.

    Take Action

    Taking action is the best way to control fear. For example, if you are not feeling well, but you don't go to a doctor, you may imagine that you are having a serious health problem.

    Once you've been to a doctor, talked about the problems and dealt with them one by one, your fear will become smaller and even disappear.

    Confidence(自信) is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude (态度). A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves successful. But how to be more confident? Here are some suggestions:

    Speak loudly When you are not confident，you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak loud enough so that people can understand you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident.

    Play sports Playing sports makes you tired but completely relaxed. When you do sports，you will be full of confidence.

Encourage yourself Write down a list of things you did during the day and see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everyone laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.

    Get rid of(消除) fear Fear comes along with failure(失败).But it's easy to get over(克服) if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better.

    Pick up what you like to do If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you excellent. And it will make you happy and confident.

    Many students think it is too difficult to learn English well, though they know it is important. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}

    Firstly, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} A lot of people can't speak English well because they are afraid of making mistakes. But in order to improve your spoken English, you need to be brave and confident. Don't care too much about the mistakes in your spoken English. Being able to express your ideas is the most important thing.

    Secondly, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} You can watch Hollywood movies like Spider﹣Man and Captain America. Listen to what they say carefully and try to understand the main ideas of the movies.

    Lastly, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} I know that students are tired nowadays and you always have to do exercises of different subjects. But practice makes perfect. Only by doing a lot of exercises can you get better English skills.
