How much do you know about Albert Einstein?

    Albert Einstein, born on March 14, 1879 in Germany, was a great scientist in the world. ①He was strange because he hated haircuts and new clothes. He believed in peace. All his life, he hated war. However, his most famous idea, E = mc², helped create the world's most dangerous weapon (武器). Many people think he was the smartest person in the world. But Einstein said that he thought like a child with many questions and unusual ideas.

    What did he like?

    Einstein liked learning sailing (帆船运动). He sailed in small boats all his life. He once joked, “Sailing is the sport that takes the least energy!” When Einstein was a child, his mother made him take violin lessons. At first, he didn't like the violin. But then he learned to love music and became a good violinist.

    Later, he said, “②热爱是最好的老师。”

    Why is the sky blue?

    In 1910, Einstein asked a question which many children often ask, “Why is the sky blue?” After his careful research, he answered the question like this: “It's because light is made up of many colors including blue. When light travels to Earth, gas particles (气体微粒) spread the blue light all over the sky.” His answer is true in physics.

    Calabash brothers（葫芦兄弟） are seven brave brothers. They live in Calabash mountain. They wear different clothes. The red calabash is strong, but he does not have his own ideas. The orange calabash has two bright eyes and ears. He can see far and hear clearly. The yellow calabash has a hard head. The green calabash can swim. The cyanine（青色的） calabash is good at fire and the blue calabash hides himself very well. The purple calabash has a magic gourd（葫芦）.

    One day a pangolin（穿山甲） breaks the cave and two monsters come out. They are Monster Scorpion（蝎子精） and Monster Snake（蛇精）. The seven brothers must fight with them and save the world.

    ①He was 11 years old and went fishing every chance he got at his family's small house on an island in the middle of a New Hampshire lake.

    ②On the day before the bass(鲈鱼)season opened, he and his father were fishing early in the evening, catching sunfish and the bass with worms. Before long, when his fishing pole doubled over, he knew something huge was on the other end. His father watched him with admiration as the boy skillfully worked the fish alongside the bank and he very successfully lifted the exhausted fish from the water. It was the largest one he had ever seen, but it was a bass.

    ③The boy and his father looked at the handsome fish, the fish jumped up and down in the moonlight. The father looked at his watch. It was 10 P. M.-two hours before the season opened. He looked at the fish, then at the boy. "You will have to put it back, my son.” he said.“ I have never seen such a big fish before.” cried the boy“ There will be other fish." said his father. The boy looked around the lake. No other fishermen or boats were anywhere around in the moonlight. He looked again at his father. Even though no one had seen them, nor could anyone ever know what time he caught the fish, the boy could tell by his father's voice that the decision couldn't be changed. He slowly worked the hook out of the lip of the huge bass and lowered it into the water.

    ④That was 34 years ago. And he has never again caught such a beautiful fish as the one he landed that night long ago. But he does see the fish again and again-every time he comes up against a question of ethics(伦理). For, as his father taught him, ethics are simple matters of right and wrong. It is only the practice of ethics that is difficult.

    ⑤We would if we were taught to put the fish back when we were young. For we would have learned the truth. The decision to do right lives fresh in our memory. It is a story we will proudly tell our friends and grandchildren.

    The Kings lived in a small house in New York with their child. Sometimes Mr. King came back from work very late. When his wife and the child were asleep, he opened the front door of his house with his key and came in very quietly.

    But one night when he was coming home late, he lost his key. So when he reached his home, he rang the bell. Nothing happened. He rang it again. Again nothing happened. Nobody moved inside the house. Mr. King knocked at the bedroom window. He spoke to his wife, he shouted, but she didn't wake up. At last he stopped and thought for a minute. Then he began to speak like a small child. "Mother," he said, "I want to go to the toilet." He spoke quietly, but at once, Mrs. King woke up. Then he spoke to her, and she opened the door for him.
