    Strange things were happening in a countryside of northeast Hebei. For three days the water in the village wells rise and fell. Farmers noticed that the well walls had deep cracks in it . A smell gas came out of the cracks. In the farmyards, the chickens and even the pigs were so nervous to eat. Mice ran out of the fields looked for places to hide. Fish jumped out of their bowls and ponds. At about 3:00 am in July 28,1976, some people saw bright lights in the sky. The sound of planes could be heard about outside the city of Tangshan even no planes were in the sky. In the city, the water pipes in some buildings cracked and burst. But the one million people of the city, whom thought little of these events, were asleep as usual the night.

    During my last summer holiday. I go to the countryside to enjoy myself. I saw mother bird stay in her nest in a big tree, watching some of her baby flying away. I thought she must be very proud of her children, that were able to find her own food now. But she might also feel a sense of loss because they wouldn't need of her day-to-day care any longer. For our parents, things are much easy. We have set up our family blog to posting our photos and journals. Once we leave for college, we can convenient share our experiences but support each other. Their "nest" will never be empty.

    Every morning I have breakfast with my two-year-old sister in a nearby restaurant. One morning, I was taught her some table manner when an old lady came up to us. She said my sister was so lovely and will grow up to be a beautiful lady. I thanked her and she left for a hurry. I told my sister that she should also say "thank you" because the lady spoke high of her. Just then the lady returned it to get something which was left on her table. My sister thanked them aloud and said she was also beautiful. What the lady said about my sister made us very happier. I think it was same with the lady.
