    How is everything going recently? I'm writing to tell you something more about my birthday. The other day we hold aparty to celebrate my 18th birthday. I received many presents from my friends and parents, including cards, books, CDs or so on. During the party we sang and danced, having good time. I thanked my friends for his help and company. At the meantime, I showed my sincere appreciation to my parents for bringing me up. Now I grow up, that means I should shoulder more responsibilities.     There was a rich man who carried many treasures to look into happiness. But after a long march, he fails to find happiness. Annoyed, he sat by a path of the mountain while a farmer carrying a large bunch of firewood came down from the mountain. The rich man said, “I'm a wealth man. Can you tell me that why I'm unhappy?” The farmer put down the heavy firewood, wiped the sweat pleasant and said, “Happiness is very simple: put down and you'll be happy!” The rich man inspired suddenly. Anxious and tiring all day, he carried that heavy jewelry, afraid of being robbed or murdered. How could you be happy? So the rich man helped the poor with jewelry and money, doing some good deed. He enjoyed the taste of happiness.

    Last weekend l went fishing with my cousins by a river, where was two miles away from my home by bike. When we were about to return for home, we found one of our bike lost. We were really nervous then. Asking about the lost bike, nobody told the truth except me. And to my surprise, my parents don't scold me. Instead, they said I was a honest boy. I have benefited great from my family rules. I'm not the best at school work, but classmates trust me and nearly everyone is willing to making friends with me.     When I was very young, my parents teach me the value of writing thank-you notes. Whenever they asked me to, I would roll my eyes and write it after birthdays and some festivals unwilling. Only after my grandmother passed away I realize their impact. My mom and I had the task of clean my grandmother's house. I opened a drawer in her bedside table which I found a beautiful wooden box. I opened it but was shocked to see every card I had ever written to her. The impact of a moment stayed with me all my life. When I had children, they learned from the value of writing thank-you notes and still do so, even as grown adult.

    Three years before, when I began my senior high school study, I found extremely difficult to learn English well. There are so many new words and grammar rules to keep in mind. Hard although I might try, I still did poor in the English exams. It was the hardest time in my life and I nearly lost my heart and decided to give in when my mother found my problem. She said that whether I wanted to meet the shinning sun on the other sides of the difficulties, I should first have the courage to overcome them and then enjoy the joy of success. In order to prove myself, I studied very harder than ever. At the end of the term I got the highest mark in English.

    Last month, my classmate, John, caught bad cold. The news which he was running a high fever and ordinary medicine hadn't worked on him immediate reached everybody in our class. Some recorded the English lessons for him so that he could keep up on his studies. Our English teacher calls on him at weekends. Thanks to everybody's kind help, he failed to falling behind in his studies and finally came back to the class. With love, no illness or difficulty are terrible. Love and help are two-way streets. Our classmates were offered John help partly because he had always been a warm-heart boy. So I realise that when we help others, we are helping us.
