宁夏银川一中2019届高三英语第二次模拟考试试卷(含小段音频)

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

A. Consider the touch barrier.

B. Consider how you insult each other.

C. They should know that you are not serious.

D. These are sure signs that your friends trust you.

E. Are they acting fake—perhaps hiding an insecurity?

F. True friends should not get one another into trouble.

G. True friends will remain faithful and find their way through a fight.

    Sometimes it can be hard to recognize a true friend, one who is loyal (忠诚的) and one who is worth keeping by your side. The suggestions provided in this article will help to guide you in working out which friends are likely to be true.

    Be able to trust your friends. You should be able to trust true friends and they should return this trust. Your friends tell you secrets that no one else knows. Let you share secrets. Ask you for advice. However, if your friends hide things from you and act secretive, this could be a sign that they do not trust you, but it could also mean your friends keep to themselves or don't like to reveal too much about themselves.

    Consider comfort. How comfortable do your friends feel when they are around you? Watch them, are they being themselves or are they timid (胆怯的) around you? True friendships can take a while to develop, but if your friends are true, they should feel comfortable around you.

    This is not meant in a romantic way, but consider whether your friends are comfortable with the touch. If your friends are fine with hugging you, leaning on you, resting their heads on your shoulder and so forth, then you can judge they love you.

    Think about loyalty. True friends are always there for one another. If you are in need of a helping hand, your true friends should be there to offer it to you. You can trust friends with anything, knowing that they will be loyal and will not let your secrets out.

    Look at how you fight. Nearly all best friends fight; so if you and your friend have a little dispute (争论), don't sweat it! They will not tell each other's secrets and they still care about each other.

Many people find it hard to lose weight and have to go starvation. Now, I'd like to offer some tricks to help lose weight.

Put out a large vegetable plate. Eating water-rich foods such as tomatoes during meals reduces calorie consumption. Other water-rich foods include soups and salads.{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Because the body processes hunger and thirst through different systems, it simply doesn't register a sense of fullness with water (or tea, coffee or juice).

Downsize your dinner plates. The less food put in front of you, the less food you'll eat. So instead of using standard dinner plates, serve your main course on salad plates.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}Instead of large glasses and coffee mugs, return to the old days of cups and even smaller coffee cups.

Serve your dinner restaurant-style (with food already on the plates) rather than family-style (where the food is served in bowls on the table).{#blank#}3{#/blank#}There's no reaching for seconds.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}You're more likely to eat more—and eat more high-fat, high calorie foods—when you eat out than when you eat at home.

    Eat slowly and calmly.{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Vary your eating with stories of the interesting things that happened during your day. Your brain is behind your stomach by about 20 minutes when it comes to fullness signals. If you eat slowly enough, your brain will catch up and tell you that you no longer need food. Serving separate courses will also slow you down

A. The same goes for liquids.

B. Eat 90 percent of your meals at home.

C. When your plate is empty, you're finished.

D. Put your fork or spoon down between every bite.

E. Be sure to choose a high-fiber, low-sugar variety of food.

F. You won't get the same benefits by just drinking water, though

G. You should eat equal amounts of vegetables and grains at dinner.

    Having a busy schedule can result in disorder as well as the lack of not completing various tasks at hand.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Below are some tips of how to improve it.

    Establish a planning system

    There are several planning systems you can use.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}. With a planning system in place, when you have a task to do, you need to record the details of the task. Record what you need to do, the date it should be done and the time to complete the task.

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Having a busy day can result in disorganization and many tasks will not be done. When you check your planner before starting your day, you will know what should be done, at what time and for how long.

    Complete tasks at the scheduled time

    In your planner, you have organized every task to be done at a specific (特定的) time and at a specific date.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. If you don't complete a task at a specific time or take too much time completing a task, you will disorganize everything.

    Clean your work-space

    You need to be organized, therefore clean your work-space before and after you have completed the task. If the books were for a past homework, you need to clean up first before starting the new task.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}.

    Question: I have recently got a senior position within my company. One of my new tasks is to make monthly progress reports on my department in front of other senior officials. During my first meeting, I presented and then opened the floor to questions.

    {#blank#}1{#/blank#} My first reaction was to answer defensively. Later, I realized that I shouldn't feel that way. But how can I keep cool and effectively answer questions in this type of settings?

    Answer: Congratulations on your new position! Presenting in front of your peers (同事) is a hard task in itself, and it becomes much more difficult when a question-and-answer period is required. Question-and-answer periods are a great way to clarify the message and strengthen key points. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}

    {#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    When a person is asking a question, show interest and a desire to understand the question by listening and asking for clarification.

    Buy time

    When facing a hard question, most people can't give an answer immediately. Buy time by repeating the question in your own words. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} These techniques allow you to quickly organize your thoughts as well as to make sure you will be correctly answering the question.

    Suggest a private meeting

    A one-on-one meeting is a calmer setting than speaking in front of your peers. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}

    Girls who play sports do better in school. You might think that athletics will take up all your study time. {#blank#}2{#/blank#}Exercise improves learning, memory, and concentration, which can give active girls an advantage in the classroom.

    Girls who play sports learn teamwork and goal-setting skills. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} When working with coaches, trainers, and teammates to win games and achieve goals, you're learning how to be successful. Those skills will serve you well at work and in family life.

    Sports are good for a girl's health. In addition to being fit and keeping a healthy weight, girls who play sports are also less likely to smoke. And later in life, girls who exercise are less likely to get breast cancer or osteoporosis(骨质酥松症).

●They believe their opinion is fact

For effective communication to take place it is important to be able to distinguish between opinion and fact.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}But aggressive people take it one step further. They act as if their opinion is fact, which is telling others that their opinions are irrelevant(不相关的).

●It's all about how it affects them

When something goes wrong, or when considering potential consequences, aggressive people only consider how it influences them. The impact on others is irrelevant to them. {#blank#}3{#/blank#}I once knew a girl who, every time she had a quarrel with her boyfriend, used to wake her entire family up so she could tell them how she had been unjustly treated.

●Rapid speech

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}They are determined to get their point across and have no desire to let the other person offer their input. They want total control of the conversation and are determined that the other person will hear what they have to say.

●Aggressive talking; defensive listening

This refers to the body language that they adopt when they are being aggressive.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}They may point, spread feet apart with hands on the waist, etc. However, when the other person is speaking they will adopt a more defensive gesture e.g. crossing their arms.

Being familiar with these signs will help you to recognize the aggression quickly, and you will then be able to manage the situation more appropriately.

A. When talking they will likely lean forward.

B. The following are some common signs of aggression.

C. Aggressive people speak fast with little or no pauses.
