Hi! Welcome to my webpage. My name's Tom Wood and I'm an English teacher. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (design) this webpage last week so that my students can learn more about me.     I was born in London, England, but I've lived and worked in China for the past 15 years and I really like living here.

    I can speak Putonghua and even a little bit of Cantonese{#blank#}4{#/blank#} is my wife's dialect (方言). I practice{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(speak) Chinese every day and I am improving{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(fortunate), there are one or two million people in my town who are ready to help me with my Chinese! I particularly enjoy talking to my neighbors.

    My favourite sport is football. I play football once a week with some of the other teachers at the school. We're going to organize a(n){#blank#}7{#/blank#} (compete) with teams of teachers from other schools this summer.

    My other great love is my motorbike. I love getting on my motorbike and riding out to the countryside. But my wife thinks it's too{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (noise )and dangerous. If anyone wants to send me an email, just{#blank#}9{#/blank#}do) as you like. I'd love to hear{#blank#}10{#/blank#} you.

    There are {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (vary) kinds of theme parks. Some parks are famous {#blank#}2{#/blank#} having the biggest or longest roller coasters, {#blank#}3{#/blank#} for showing the famous sights and sounds of a culture. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} and whatever you like, there is a theme park for you!

    The theme park you are {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (probable) most familiar with is Disneyland. With all these attractions, no wonder {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (tour) is increasing wherever there is a Disneyland.

    Dollywood is one of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (unique) theme parks in the world. It has one of the world's largest bald eagle {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (preserve).

    In England's Camelot Park, every area of it is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (model) after life in the days of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. There you can experience the ancient days and great {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (deed) of English knights and ladies, princes and queens.

    Joe's plane landed on time at Heathrow Airport. He had {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (exact) one hour to get out of the airport and go across the centre of the airport and the centre of London to catch his train to Manchester. He hurried through the airport, and then raced {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the taxi sign.

    Unfortunately, at that moment, his luggage broke and dirty socks, shirts and underwear were all over the airport floor. Joe was so {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (embarrass) that he quickly put everything back into his luggage. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (push) his way through the crowds of people, he finally made it to the taxi rank. He jumped into the nearest taxi, shouting, “Euston Station, quickly, pleases!” The taxi set off at such {#blank#}5{#/blank#} high speed that Joe {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (throw) back-ward, hitting his head against the glass .The taxi sped on and finally arrived in the city centre, and also the middle of a traffic jam! {#blank#}7{#/blank#} would be quicker to walk there, Joe offered {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (pay) the driver, got out of the taxi, and ran along the pavement and past all the shop {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (window). At last, he could see the station opposite.

    He {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (reach) the station just as his train was leaving. He got on the train with seconds to spare. He sighed with relief—he would be home in time for Christmas.

    No one knows exactly {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the earth began. However, according to a widely accepted theory, the universe began {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a "Big Bang". Then the dust {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(settle) into a solid globe. As the earth cooled down, water began to appear on its surface. Many {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(science) believe that it was the presence of water that allowed the earth to dissolve {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(harm) gases and acids into oceans and seas, which made it possible for life to develop.

    Millions of years later, the first small plants appeared on the surface of the water. Their development {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(follow) by early shellfish, all sorts of fish, green plants and land animals. Reptiles {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(produce) young generally by laying eggs while mammals gave birth to young baby animals. Dinosaurs existed on the earth for over 140 million years before they suddenly disappeared. The reason {#blank#}8{#/blank#} they disappeared still remains a mystery.

    Finally, humans appeared and spread all over the earth. But they are putting too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which prevents heat from {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(escape) from the earth into space. As a result of this, people believe the earth may become too hot to live on. So {#blank#}10{#/blank#} life will continue on the earth will depend on how this problem can be solved.

    These sites post the latest stories and also keep all the past articles they {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (post) earlier. That way you can find articles just about anything that {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (be) related to the science fields you are interested in.
