The fourth Thursday of November is American Thanksgiving Day. It's a holiday in the US. Usually, family members and friends get together for a dinner. American Thanks-giving Day began in 1621. When the first English settlers reached the New World in 1620, they did not have enough food. But the American Indians helped the white men and taught them how to farm. The next year, in autumn, they had a good harvest. They were so happy. They thanked Indian friends for their help and thanked God.

    I have a big bedroom.There are many things (东西) in it.You can see two chairs.The chairs are big.You can see fifteen kites.The kites are beautiful.You can see seventeen toy cars.The toy cars are small.I love my bedroom.

    Today is Sunday, so Peter doesn't go out. He asks his parents about the traditional Chinese clothes. Mother tells him that Qipao is the traditional dress for women in China. It is usually made of colourful silk and sometimes made of cotton. Many women in the West like it very much too. Father can remember that all the VIPs wore Tang suit(唐装) at APEC in Shanghai. They all looked smart in the traditional Chniese clothes. Many young people find it cool to wear the clothes in their own styles. Peter's cousin says the modern clothes are better. Finally, they think the fashion should be comfortable first.

    This is Mike's bedroom. It's new and nice. Today Mike's friends, Tom and Lucy are here, too. They are playing video games. Many things are on the bed. It's messy（凌乱的）. The coat is Mike's. The T-shirt and the socks are Tom's. There is a red cap. It must be Lucy's.

    I am a rabbit, a happy rabbit. I have some friends. They are Mr. Pig, Miss Sheep and Mr. Horse. Now they are playing together. Mr. Pig is singing. Miss Sheep is dancing. Mr. Horse is running. They are very happy.

    The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. All the Chinese people like this holiday. First, there are dragon boat races. Dragon boats are very long. They are painted in bright colours. In each boat, there are many people rowing. There's also somebody beating a drum. It is said that the winning team will have good luck and a happy life in the following year. During the Dragon Boat Festival, people also eat a special kind of rice dumplings. They are called zongzi. To make these rice dumplings, people prepare meat, vegetables and other things. Then they can make different flavours of rice dumplings. Some are sweet, and some are salty. They all taste good. People give them to friends. On the evening of the holiday, families have a big meal together. The Dragon Boat Festival is a great time for everybody.
