Proving Them Wrong!

I'm John Wood，a doctor at a famous Boston hospital．During the first two years of high school，I found biology very{#blank#}1{#/blank#}．My report cards always said things like“Must study harder”or“John shouldn't choose science{#blank#}2{#/blank#}." It was really terrible for{#blank#}3{#/blank#}who had always dreamed of becoming a doctor．I lost confidence，so I left high school at sixteen and{#blank#}4{#/blank#}working at a supermarket．

One evening I saw a documentary about Albert Einstein．According to the documentary，Einstein had done really{#blank#}5{#/blank#}at school．I began to think that Einstein could{#blank#}6{#/blank#}，then I may have a chance，too．I didn't want to leave my job，{#blank#}7{#/blank#}I decided to go to night school to finish high school．Two years later，I went to a{#blank#}8{#/blank#}university．

     I've often thought I should contact the{#blank#}9{#/blank#}of the Einstein documentary and{#blank#}10{#/blank#}him．As for the biology teacher．I might contact her，too，one day but not to thank her!

    I used to be strongly against telling lies. I can't stand (忍受) lies. {#blank#}1{#/blank#}, a white lie changed my idea.

    Several days ago, I invited some friends {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(get) together at a bar to celebrate my birthday. They promised to meet {#blank#}3{#/blank#}at 5 p.m. When that day came, I got to {#blank#}4{#/blank#}bar early. To my disappointment (失 M), only one friend arrived by 4:50 p.m. Did they forget my birthday? I had to keep{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(wait) for them. Most of them said that they were {#blank#}6{#/blank#} the way while some said they were still at home. I realized that they wouldn't come on time. At 5 p.m., there {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(be) just three people with me. I sat on my chair {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (happy). How could they do this to me? They didn't care about me! I got so angry that I decided to leave. But just at that moment, a group of my {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (friend) came into the room with a big cake in their hands, singing "Happy birthday to you". I was so{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(surprise). Ever since then, I didn't hate telling white lies anymore.
