    Lily made some New Year's {#blank#}1{#/blank#} this year. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} , she's going to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} piano lessons and practice every day. Next, she wants to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} good grades. She's going to study harder and she's going to do all her homework {#blank#}5{#/blank#}she watches TV. Finally, she wants to learn French. She's going to buy some French CDs and practice French  {#blank#}6{#/blank#} home.

    Lily's sister Lucy  {#blank#}7{#/blank#} some New Year's plans, too. She wants to become fit, so she's going to exercise more and eat {#blank#}8{#/blank#} food. She also wants to improve her Chinese. She's going to get a pen pal in China, and she is going to {#blank#}9{#/blank#} e-mails in Chinese to her pen pal. When she grows {#blank#}10{#/blank#} , she wants to be an engineer. So she's going to work harder in her math and science classes.

    I am a doctor. People often come to see me because they have colds or coughs. People {#blank#}1{#/blank#} come to see me because they are sad or nervous. Sometimes {#blank#}2{#/blank#} helps. Sometimes talking helps. But many doctors {#blank#}3{#/blank#} that music can help people feel better. I asked a few of my patients(病人) how music helps them. 

    "Sometimes I was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} when I was a child. My family said, 'Play your feelings on the piano!" Sometimes I play aloud {#blank#}5{#/blank#} on the piano. Soon I feel calm（平静的）. I can laugh and cry through my {#blank#}6{#/blank#} on the piano. It's natural for me. It's like breathing (呼吸）." "Listening to music helps me feel {#blank#}7{#/blank#}. I like to listen to music and dance when I {#blank#}8{#/blank#} my house." "I play the violin. I like playing at night {#blank#}9{#/blank#} it is quiet. After playing I am tired and I am happy. I always sleep {#blank#}10{#/blank#} after playing my violin." Are you a musician? Good! Keep playing. If you are not a musician, listen to music and sing or dance. It's good medicine.

    My hometown is in the southeast of England. Since I was a child, my family has taken a summer holiday each year in Devon, which is in the southwest of England. It {#blank#}1{#/blank#} takes a three - hour drive from my home to Devon. Devon is a really great place to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a holiday in England, and today I will tell you why.

    First of all, it's on the coast. This means you can spend plenty of time on the beach, which is fantastic {#blank#}3{#/blank#} it is sunny. Of course, you should take an umbrella to the beach because it might rain. But even if it's raining, there's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a lot to do in Devon. There are lots of very pretty {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. You can easily spend a day looking at the shops, finding a place to eat some local fish and chips and {#blank#}6{#/blank#} an ice cream at the end of your day.

    If you're {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in history, you will find plenty of castles (城堡) and old houses to visit. Ancient kings and queens once {#blank#}8{#/blank#} there. If geology(地质学) is your thing, you will love Devon because it's famous for {#blank#}9{#/blank#} "Jurassic Coast". This is an area by the sea where the cliffs(峭壁) have a special naturally red colour. Many people come to spend a day studying the rocks. If you are {#blank#}10{#/blank#}, you can find fossils (化石) of animals in the rocks. Isn't that amazing?

    All in all, I think Devon is a great place for a holiday. There is always plenty to do, no matter what age you are.
