Kiyoto Saito is trying to change people's opinion of agricultural work through his unusual attire (打扮). Whether he's driving a tractor {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is standing in the fields, Kiyoto is always wearing an elegant suit.

    Kiyoto's family has been planting rice for around 400 years, but as a teenager he {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (find) the tradition boring and moved to the city. He returned to his native town two years ago{#blank#}3{#/blank#} (determine) to get involved in the family business.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} idea of wearing a suit in the fields started as a joke. One day, his brother joked about farming in an elegant suit, but Kyioto took it{#blank#}5{#/blank#} (serious). He viewed the idea as the perfect way to change public opinion of agricultural work. “Most people think of farmers{#blank#}6{#/blank#} ‘dirty all day'. I want youngsters to think ‘farming looks fun'” he said.

    At first no one seemed {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (understand) him. Even his family was surprised by his{#blank#}8{#/blank#} (choose) of farming attire. His grandfather worried {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (do) farm work in a suit would be dangerous.

    Now Kiyoto is famous and has been invited on various television shows. He also has a blog where he regularly {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (post) his farming experiences and photos of himself all dressed up.

    For thousands of years, fishes {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (feed) the people of Peru. It was only when the industrial fishing boats got started in {#blank#}2{#/blank#}1950s that people lost interest in the fish. Modern fishery turned most of its catch into fishmeal(鱼饲料) for feeding other animals. In fact, most of the fish {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (catch) yearly around the world are for use other than eating, and 90% of them are {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (perfect) good to eat.

    White is a researcher at the University of British Columbia and he spent years {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (research) into fishery catches around the world. According {#blank#}6{#/blank#} his study, about 27% of ocean fish which were caught became fishmeal or fish oil. Those products were used to feed farmed fish or used in agriculture.

    "There could be a {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (good) use of these fish," says White. Instead of feeding fish to fish, the fish could feed people, especially those {#blank#}8{#/blank#} need high-quality protein. But the reason why that doesn't happen is a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (combine) of economics and regulations(法规). In many places, a fisherman can get more money if he sells his catch for fishmeal than if he sells it to the locals for {#blank#}10{#/blank#} meals. And in Peru, a change in how fishes are handled could both satisfy the need to feed the people and supply the fishmeal industry.

    Red is used in many American expressions. It can be used to show {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (happy), as in “a red letter day. This is a day when something special happens. The expression is probably based on church customs. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} almost six hundred years, church calendars have been marked with red to indicate special holy {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (day).

The expression “a red-letter day” is often heard in daily life. A red-letter day is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} day that people are feeling quite happy. You might tell your friends that yesterday was a red-letter day because you {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (win) some money in the state lottery (彩票).

    “Rolling a red carpet” is another {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (common) heard expression, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} represents a warm welcome. A city may “roll a red carpet” for {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (it) baseball team when the team arrives home after winning the championship.

    Red is also used in some expressions that {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (be) not happy. “Red-handed” is an example. To be caught “red-handed” is to be found in an act of wrong doing.     Although extinction is a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (nature)phenomenon, it occurs at a rate of about one to five species per year. Scientists estimate we're now losing species at 1,000 to 10,000 times the rate. In the past 500 years, about 1,000 species {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (go)extinct.
