Sometimes I wonder why I ever wanted to drive. This morning as I was backing up the car, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the car behind me. After I dropped off my children at their school, I started driving to a small town thirty miles away, where I had a meeting. While I {#blank#}2{#/blank#} along a beautiful, quiet country road, suddenly I saw some chickens {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the road. Before I knew it, I had run over one of them,  and the farmer ran out of her house shaking her fist（拳头）at me. It seemed country roads were not so{#blank#}4{#/blank#}after all, and I decided to take the highway instead. I turned off at the third exit, and before I knew it there was a police car {#blank#}5{#/blank#} me. The policeman gave me a $ 150 ticket for going through a stop sign. I swear I didn't see it. Besides, that's a stupid place to put a stop sign.

    Anyway, to make a bad day even {#blank#}6{#/blank#}, on my way home after I picked up my children from school, my car broke down. It cost me $ 65 to pull it to the nearest mechanic and another $ 400 to get it fixed. Next time I'm going to take a taxi.

    I want to be a teacher {#blank#}1{#/blank#} I grow up. I got the idea because of my mother. She is a university teacher. It seems that she isn't very busy. She only needs {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(go) to work for two days in a week. She can get up late and go home very early, much earlier {#blank#}3{#/blank#} me.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (be) a teacher seems to be a very easy job. That was my first {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(think). But then I found that her job was not easy. After I became a middle school student, I found that my mother goes to bed very late. She is {#blank#}6{#/blank#} checking her students' homework or preparing her classes for the next day. She does it many times a day {#blank#}7{#/blank#} great patience. Once I asked her: "Why do you work so hard? I bet some students don't take homework {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (serious)." "That's {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a teacher should do," she answered, "I should point out their mistakes."

    I knew she meant it. She loves teaching and loves her students. To realize my dream, I should work harder to learn more knowledge. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (succeed) is always there for those who are prepared. I believe that I will be successful.

    That was a hot summer. When I was five years old just before my sister came to the world， my mother asked me what we  {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(应该)name the new baby. I think for a minute and said， “Let's call her Gravy!”

    You know， we pour gravy over meat and it tastes good! My parents found my idea interesting but at last they named the new baby Caroline， {#blank#}2{#/blank#}（代替）. As soon as I saw Caroline I just {#blank#}3{#/blank#} ( 掉入）in love with her.

     Having a sister {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (改变) my life. When my sister and I played together， we often fought and argued with each other {#blank#}5{#/blank#} （几个）times a week. It made our parents angry. But at the same time， we learned to {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（关心）for each other.

     In North America， there are many kinds of families but most families have {#blank#}7{#/blank#} （超出）one child. Of course， some have three or more. In China， most children don't have brothers or sisters and they often feel {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（孤独的）. Some middle school students in China wish that they had a brother or sister. If you are one of them， I have a good idea for you. You can treat your friends or classmates {#blank#}9{#/blank#}  （当作）your brothers and sisters! You know that the good family {#blank#}10{#/blank#}  (关系) and friendship can lead to a happy life.

    I'm Mary. This is my room. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} very tidy, right? In my room, A bed, a desk, a chair, a bookcase and a table {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in it. Look, A computer is {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the desk. I {#blank#}4{#/blank#} a tape player and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} English books, they are in the bookcase. Oh, what's under the bed? That is my little dog.
