Students go hungry for charity （慈善）Students at New Point School enjoyed their breakfast today，for it broke a 24﹣hour fast （禁食）for charity．During the fast，they could not eat any food{#blank#}1{#/blank#}，and they could only drink water，tea and clear fruit juice．The students all volunteered to go without food for one day to raise money for UN projects to help the poor {#blank#}2{#/blank#}．

    Mr．James Wood，their English teacher，said，"The students {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the idea themselves after seeing photos of hungry children．They organized the whole thing．I'm very proud of them．"

"Twenty﹣four hours did not feel like a very long time．Next year，I might even double {#blank#}4{#/blank#}I spend fasting．Then I can raise twice as much money!"said Jane Austin，a student．"It's so wrong for us to have lots of food while many people in the world are going hungry．We need to give to those in need．"

    The students collected about $ 2，400 from the fast．They were {#blank#}5{#/blank#} the total amount．"It's amazing!People are so kind，and they want to help others，"said Alan Long，another student．

    The summer holiday was coming but Zach was a little sad. He would have to move {#blank#}1{#/blank#} the holiday, leaving his friends and his tree house. The tree house was Zach's favorite place to go to when he wanted to be alone. He also liked {#blank#}2{#/blank#} his friends there. They would play for {#blank#}3{#/blank#}.

    Zach told his mom, "I don't want to move. I'm going to miss my friends. I'm also going to miss my tree house. I want to take it with me." "Zach, but we have to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} your father's changed his job. He is already {#blank#}5{#/blank#} waiting for us. You will have a much {#blank#}6{#/blank#} bedroom, and you will meet new friends at your new school," {#blank#}7{#/blank#} his mom. Zach wasn't so sure.

    When Zach and his mom arrived, Dad took Zach to the backyard. There, Zach saw a big tree house. "Wow!" Zach shouted. "This is great!" All of a sudden, Zach heard a {#blank#}8{#/blank#} voice. "Are you moving in? My name is Joey and I live next {#blank#}9{#/blank#} Can I have a look at your tree house?"

    "I think I'm going to {#blank#}10{#/blank#} it here after all!" Zach told his mom and dad that night.

    A headmaster is giving a speech about how to perform successfully in an interview to a new school.

    Interviews are held so that you can learn about the school and the school can learn about you. You should spend a couple of hours getting ready for the interview carefully. Then you will {#blank#}1{#/blank#} understand your questions better and get right answers on the day of the interview.

    First find out about the school. Read the school introductions and look at the school websites. Then think about yourself-your strong points and {#blank#}2{#/blank#} ones. Try to find a few examples you could give the interviewers.

    What else you want to tell the interviewer about yourself? For example, you might want to speak about your interests and {#blank#}3{#/blank#} outside school. These tell the interviewer what kind of person you are. Be ready to talk about why you enjoy them.

    Dress properly on the day. Arrive a few minutes early. When you first meet the interviewer, greet him or her {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Don't forget to smile and make eye contact.  First impressions(印象) are very important. You want the interviewer to think you are {#blank#}5{#/blank#} and friendly.

    If you get nervous, take a deep {#blank#}6{#/blank#}to calm yourself down. Listen to the interviewer with great care. If you don't understand the question, ask the interviewer to repeat it. Last but not least, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} the interview, don't forget to thank the interviewer and say goodbye.
