It was a fine spring day for a walk down the street. A mother and her two little girls walked along the sidewalk, happily laughing.  1, a hundred small alien ships appeared on the horizon. They started  2 off some electric rays. People screamed. Children cried. There was  3 everywhere.

    There came the tingling sound of glasses breaking everywhere. People fled in every   4. The mother was jostled (推) and lost hold of her 5. She raced around shouting and crying for her kids. She thought they were lost to her forever.

    The sky cleared up. The aliens were 6. But there was no sight of the children. Heart-broken, the mother reached her house, crying her eyes out.

    She heard someone 7“Mamma”. Was it her kids? She frantically (慌忙地) 8 around. There they were! Hand in hand they came running towards her. She ran towards them, too. Her arms stretched out 9 to hug them. She opened her eyes. The pillow felt wet. It was a dream!

    It was such a beautiful day that I drove to go for a look in the country. On the way back home, my car 1.

    It was out of gas on a lonely road far from a town, I decided to walk 2 I got help. I had walked almost a mile before I finally found a house near the road. I was glad to see it 3 it was getting dark.

    Today pets are very common in many families, especially the rich have the time and money to look after them. Many people like to keep a kind of animal 1 a pet, such as dogs, cats, 2 and so on. And the pets are very important in some families. They think of the pets as their family members. In many 3 pets can bring love and happiness, and sometimes they also feel 4. They show their thanks in a special way. Especially the dogs, they have been humans' friends for quite a long time. A few weeks ago, a fireman saved a dog named Dobeman 5 a fire in her house. She was a mother of six babies. Then he went on 6 in the fire. The tired man sat down to rest when he 7 the fire. He saw the mother dog that he saved walking straight to him and he wanted to know 8 she was going to do. 9, she came up to him and kissed him. At first he was too surprised to do anything. I was feeling a little blue because my mother had lost her job.

One day, while I was 1 in the street, I heard the piano music and singing rising above the noise of the people. I walked more slowly to 2 where it was coming from. Then I saw a young lady sitting at a piano.

She was singing songs about love, 3 yourself and keeping on trying. The way she was singing made me a little comfortable. I stood there 4 , watching her playing on such a crowded New York square. I thought that she must be 5 enough to perform(表演) in front of so many people.

"Well, my mum has lost her job, and I'm not sure what to do..."

I smiled a little wider, realising that no difficulties could stop me from going on.

Hi, everyone. I'm Li Zihan. I'm a {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in No. 2 Middle School in Beijing. I have two English friends. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} names are Paul and Mary. 

Paul and Mary both study at Green High School. Paul likes {#blank#}3{#/blank#}. He can swim, and he can {#blank#}4{#/blank#} most ball games. He played soccer {#blank#}5{#/blank#} than Mary and he is a member of the {#blank#}6{#/blank#} team （队）. He is really strong and {#blank#}7{#/blank#} . Now he wants to learn Chinese Kungfu, because he thinks it's {#blank#}8{#/blank#}. Mary is Paul's sister. She likes music very much. She can play three {#blank#}9{#/blank#} of instruments（乐器）: the violin, the guitar and the piano. And she wants to join the music club. Paul and Mary often help me. We talk with each other in English. 

I want to {#blank#}10{#/blank#} them one day. 

I studied in China for six years. After that I attended school in 1 . There are two teachers I remember the most. 

When I 2  to Canada, I couldn't even order food on the flight. After two months on an ESL (English as a second language) course, I got my first 3  card. My mark in English was only 65. I couldn't 4  what would be said at the parent-teacher interview. 

"I am amazed at how his English has 5  so fast, " Mrs Franceschini said to my parents. "On his first day, he was very shy and only used 6  words. Now he can answer and ask questions by using complete sentences. "7  many other Chinese parents, my mum asked if she could give me extra homework. "Don't worry. Richard is already working very hard. Richard, you did a good job. I am 8  of you!" Mrs Franceschini said to me. 

Back in Shanghai, my teacher Miss Li was very 9 . I was nervous to take parents to the interview. 

Miss Li told my parents, "Feng Yu is doing pretty well. But because of his 10 , he lost three points in maths. "

I thought she was being harsh(严厉的) to me. But 11  I was about to leave, I realised Miss Li was very 12 . She hosted a party for me and gave me a big card. "Feng Yu, you are my best student. I 13  you a successful life, "she wrote. "If you want to have a talk or need any help, I am 14  here for you. "

Miss Li and Mrs Franceschini are both great teachers, just in different ways. One 15  my learning abilities and the other gave me tons of confidence.
