One day, a woman took a bus with her son.The boy was about four years old. He ran on the bus and1 up and down on the seat. There was a man nextto them. Getting a job in today's competitive world is not easy. Most jobs require qualifications (学历). They need a university {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(educate) or practical skills. Many children study well at school {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the y want to find a good job. Some people, of course, have some wonderful abilities. For example, some children know that they are {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(talent) in music. They start to learn music at {#blank#}4{#/blank#} early age. And they want to be {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(music) when they grow up. Some children are going to be painters or dancers. Most young people have to study hard because they don't have any special abilities. I am one of {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they). I'm a common student at school. Sometimes I get tired and want to leave school. But I'm not old enough to leave school. I'm so young {#blank#}7{#/blank#} I can't find a job. My teachers and parents encourage me {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(study) hard. They help me to think about my future. They say that I am good at making all kinds of models and I want to be an engineer. They all advise me {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(go) to university or college to study more.

I'm enjoying my staying in Canada. It is my first experience of studying abroad, and I am trying to 1  as much as possible. Classes here are much more fun and very different from classes in 2  . There are very few chances to practise 3  and listening in China, so although many Chinese students have good 4  , their speaking is not good. Studying English at Fern is much more practical. We actually 5  the language we are learning. I couldn't speak any English at all when I arrived here. 6 after about a month, the situation changed. Things started getting 7  and I made friends and started to settle in(安顿下来). I am really 8  to learn English here and Fern is a very good language school.

I have always wanted to have a sister. In my Canadian host family my dream has 9 . On the first day when I arrived, my host family welcomed 10  warmly. All the family members were 11  and helpful, and they made me feel at home at once.

My " 12 " , Joise, is very kind. She often explains their manners to me. Her mother explains ordinary things like housework. Together they 13  me to study and understand Canada. Joise told me a 14  . Last year, she met a Chinese student on a plane. She said she felt sorry 15 she did not say anything to the girl.

I'm happy to live in Canada. I think it will be an important experience in my life.

When you study, the first thing to consider is whether you understand the information, and the second is how you will remember it. Some of you perhaps think you know all about that, right? After all (毕竟), you've been studying for years. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} The advice is for all of you.

First of all, have a plan. You can make a plan for a week or for a longer time. If you're studying for an important exam, you should make a long-term plan.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}If it doesn't, change your plan in time.

Next, think about your environment. Make sure the place for studying is comfortable with enough light and fresh air, not too hot or too cold. If you think you do it better with music, you can put some music on and see if it's true.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}But for other people, it can make it harder to concentrate (集中注意力).

Third, take breaks while studying. You can plan your study time in periods (时间段) with breaks in between. Some experts advise you to take a 10-minute break after 30 minutes of studying.{#blank#}4{#/blank#}During your short break, you can treat yourself to something like green tea, but I wouldn't suggest chocolate because sugar can make it harder to concentrate.

Finally, think about what you do when you're studying.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}If that works for you, then great! However, I suggest writing notes while studying because it helps your mind process the information better!

D. Some people just read through their books and mark important parts with a pencil.
