I will never forget the day when I went to a coming- of - age ceremony. Last month, an unforgettable adult ceremony  (hold) for all the senior 3 students in our school. It began at half past two in the afternoon. Decorated by colorful flowers and balloons, the stadium looked  (amaze) beautiful. All of us students were dressed school uniforms with red ribbons on our wrists, showing the energy of youth. We walked into the stadium in high spirits,  (accompany) by our parents. Our principal delivered  inspiring speech at first, and we received  (congratulate) from our teachers. During the ceremony, we expressed our heart-felt gratitude to our parents by (bow) to them. I was moved to tears when I got a photo album from my parents,  reminded me of my happy childhood. In the end, we raised  right hands and made a serious promise to become reliable and honest citizens.

As far as I 'm concerned, the ceremony indicates that we should take on more responsibilities to be  (independence) and get away from the shelter of our family.

Many teachers believe that the responsibilities for learning lie with the student. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} a long reading assignment is given, instructors expect students to be familiar with {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (inform) in the reading even if they do not discuss it in class or take an examination. The ideal student is considered to be one who is motivated to learn for the sake of learning, not the one interested only in getting high grades. Sometimes homework is returned {#blank#}3{#/blank#} brief written comments but without a grade. Even if a grade is not given, the student is {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (responsibility) for learning the material assigned. When research {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (assign), the professor expects the student to take it actively and to complete it with minimum guidance. It is the student's responsibility to find books, magazines, and articles in the library. Professors do not have the time to explain {#blank#}6{#/blank#} a university library works; they expect students, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (especial) graduate students, to be able to exhaust the reference origins in the library. Professors will help students who need it, but prefer that their students should not be too dependent on them. In the United States, professors have many other duties {#blank#}8{#/blank#} teaching, such as administrative or research work. Therefore, the time {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a professor can spend with a student outside of class {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (limit). If a student has problems with classroom work, the student should either approach a professor during office hours or make an appointment.

Crows(乌鸦) are remarkably intelligent birds. Now these feathered geniuses are given a job: Six crows have been trained to pick up rubbish in the Puy du Fou historical theme park in western France. Whenever the six crows put cigarette ends or other small {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (piece) of trash in a special container, it offers a treat to reward the crows {#blank#}2{#/blank#} their efforts.

The idea came from one of the park's employees, Christophe. In 2012, the theme park held a show during which the crows picked up roses and brought them to a “princess”. It was the show {#blank#}3{#/blank#} inspired him. Since then, six crows {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(raise) and trained to do the same with rubbish. The training system is similar to the one for testing crows' intelligence, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} a food dispenser(分发器) gives away a food reward when a crow {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (correct) performs a task. Christophe also introduced other species of birds to go through the training. {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (compare) with other birds, crows are much cleverer.

The purpose of {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (train) the crows is to educate the people to reflect on themselves. Since the birds are able to protect the environment, we need to care about it too. “It is {#blank#}9{#/blank#} funny way to remind people not {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(throw) the rubbish everywhere,” said Christophe.
