Michael Jordon is the greatest basketball player so far. Once he was making a television advertisement. All Michael needed to do in the advertisement was to miss a shot. For Michael, this was difficult. He always succeeded whenever he was throwing the ball. Every time he threw a basketball, it went in. Every time he tried to miss a shot, he failed. In total, it took him over 20 times before he missed a shot.

For Michael, success is a strong habit. He had formed a habit which was so strong that it took him a lot of time to break it and “fail”. Just like drinking, smoking and collecting things, success is also a habit. Like all habits, once it is established, it is difficult to break. Many people think that success is difficult to maintain（维持）. They feel that it will be hard work and will need too much action and focus. The truth is that it is simply a habit, and as easy to keep as any other habit.

Spend some time making success a habit in your life. Once you have developed it, it is not something you will want to change again. Then, the only thing you will fail is failing.

    Philip is the bravest boy I know. His friends and family are all very 1 him.

    Ten-year-old Philip was born with an 2  which means that he is always breaking his bones（骨头）. Although he has such a serious illness, Philip 3  playing sports. In January last year he 4  wheelchair racing. He came second in his first 5 , and since then Philip has won every other race!

    In order to look for a new challenge（挑战）， Philip 6  to take part in the London Wheelchair Marathon（马拉松）. 7 , five days before the race Philip got sick. He didn't want to 8  He finally made up his mind to take part. Philip was given medicine by his doctor and guess what? He not only 9  it, but he also finished in first place!

    Philip is very 10  and never gives up. That's why he has been chosen to be the Bravest Child of the Month.

    A very new, young officer（军官）was at a station. He was on his way to visit his mother in another town, and he wanted to telephone her to tell her the time of this train, so that she could meet him at the station in her car. He looked in all his pockets, but he did not have the coins（硬币）for the telephone, so he went outside and looked around for someone to help him.

    At last an old soldier came by, and the young officer stopped him and said, "Do you have change for ten pence（便士）?"

    "Wait a moment,' the old soldier answered. He began to put his hand in his pocket, "I'll see if I can help you."

    "Don't you know how to speak to an officer?" the young man said angrily. "Now let's start again. Do you have change for ten pence?"

    "No, sir," the old soldier answered politely and quickly.

    One day, a little monkey and a little fox went out to play. They saw an apple tree on the other side of the river. There were many big and red apples on it. But there was no bridge over the river. The monkey thought hard and had an idea. They pulled down a tree and put it over the river as a bridge.

    The monkey said, "My old friend, you go there first." But after the fox went to the other side, he kicked(踢)the tree into the river and ran to the apple tree. "How can I get there without the tree?" cried the monkey. The fox laughed and said, "You just stand there and watch me eating the apples." The monkey was very angry.

    Suddenly it began to rain. The water level(水位)in the river rose(上涨)and the tree flew away with the water. "You can eat all the apples. But you can't come back, "shouted the monkey. The fox stopped eating and looked at the monkey sadly.

    Spider-Man is one of the most famous comic book heroes of all time. He was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditka and was first introduced to the world in the pages of Marvel comic books.

    Spider- Man's story is the story of Peter Parker, a boy who has lost his parents and lives with his aunt and uncle. Peter is a shy, quiet boy wearing glasses and has few friends. One day, on a high school class trip to a science lab, he gets bitten by a special spider. Soon Peter realizes he has amazing powers. He is as strong and quick as a spider and also has a type of sixth sense, He no longer needs his glasses and he can use his super power to fly through the city streets!

    Remembering the sentence "With great power comes great responsibility." that his Uncle Ben has told him, Peter decides to use his powers to fight enemies who do cruel things to people. And so Spider-Man is born.

    Life is not easy for Peter even though he is a superhero. He is in love with Mary Jane but cannot tell her about his amazing powers. Besides his best friend Harry hates Spider-Man! Peter is also short of money and time. He has to sell photos of Spider-Man (himself) to a newspaper and he keeps losing his other jobs because he's so busy saving people! Yet he has to fight different kind's cruel enemies.
