Four Simple Ways to Better Your Writing
Keep It Simple
My first tip for improving your writing is: keep it simple.
Now, I know it's better to keep things simple and do it well, rather than over-complicate(使过分复杂) everything and do it badly.
So, in English writing exams, you want to show off your English, but you want to show off your right English, not all this English that you don't know or haven't learnt yet.
Have a Collection of Set Phrases(固定搭配)
In order not to make mistakes, it's a really, really good idea to have a collection of set phrases and key words that you can use in the exam. Make sure that you have different ways to …
Compare:in the same way, at the same time
Give your opinion:from my point of view, in my view
Add information : in addition, besides
……
So, that's just a very brief list showing you exactly what you need to study to be fully prepared for any English writing exam.
Reduce Your Word Number
Use as few words as possible to reduce your word number.
Avoid pointless words like very, a lot. Replace them, instead, with a strong word. By using strong words, you can reduce your word number by a fair bit.
Another way is avoiding there is and there are. We want everything to be as clear as possible. Thus, you can increase the quality of your writing.
Check Your Work
Tip number four. Students will make some stupid mistakes when they're writing. After being asked to correct the mistakes, they will say, "We already know this. So easy!" and it's because they don't check their work.
I personally think it's much better if you write less and check more. Fewer words, high accuracy(准确率). Then you will make your writing better.

How do you talk with new people when meeting them if you want to leave a good impression? Here are some tips for you.
Tip 1 |
You have to show up, which can be a challenge for many of us. You can show up as an observer(旁观者) of other interesting people and let that be a learning experience for you, Before you start talking, it's important to just listen, even if you think you are a wise storyteller. If you are close to a group of people who are discussing a topic, watch their body language and see if they will let you join in their conversation. |
Tip2 |
You'd better go in the conversation with a couple of topics to keep it going, or questions to, ask if there is a short stop. Simple things like "How do you know the host?" and "How did you get there?" are always good conversation starters to a certain extent(在—定程度上). |
Tip 3 |
Don't fear silences. Awkward(令人尴尬的) silences are common part of talking with people. Just rush to fill them. If you don't want to go on with the conversation, just say you are going to get another drink or something to eat, and find another group to talk with. |
Tip 4 |
Relax If you cannot keep a conversation going, or you don't know what you should say next, give yourself a little time to clear your head. Relax, and then turn back into the discussion. |
When you meet new people, you always want to leave a good impression. But do you know how to be a good speaker? Here is some advice for you.
The first advice is that you have to show up and observe or listen to others even if you can tell stories {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. If you go near a group of people, watch their body language to see if they will offer you a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} to talk with them. The second advice for you is that some topics should be {#blank#}3{#/blank#} before the conversation. Next, you don't need to be {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of silences. You can rush to fill them or leave for another group. The last is relaxing. If you can't keep a conversation going or you {#blank#}5{#/blank#} what you should say next, take a break and clear your head, then return to the discussion.
