    Annie lived alone in Chicago. One day, she fell down in her bedroom and broke her leg. So she tried to call her friend Lisa. But she dialed (拨打) a wrong number. The call reached Taylor, an 18-year-old girl. She was a college student and she lived hundreds of miles away from Chicago.

    At that time Taylor was reading in bed. She thought it was somebody playing a joke. When she was going to hang up the phone, she heard a woman saying “Help! Help!” From it Taylor thought something bad must have happened to the woman. After she got the woman's name and address, Taylor called 911 at once. Then she tried to make Annie feel comfortable. She spoke to Annie on the phone till the doctors arrived at Annie's house. At last Annie was taken to hospital in time.

    As soon as Annie felt better, she wrote a letter to Taylor to thank her.

Hi, I'm Zhu Hua. I'm a junior high school student in Beijing. There are twenty-six boys and twenty-two girls in my class. Half of the students come to school by bike. Five boys and four girls come to school on foot. About a quarter of us come to school by bus. The others come to school by subway. We're all from China. We're good friends.

    I'm Sally . I was a shy girl . Bu this term , I decided to do a brave（勇敢）thing . In this term , we had a new subject to learn –physics . When our teacher asked someone to be the physics monitor（物理课代表）, I put up my hand and got the role . But it was not as easy as I thought .

    At the beginning , I found that many students did not hand in（上交）their homework , so I was a little worried . I shouted at the students . It made the students angry . One girl asked : “ Why are you shouting at me ? You're making it seem like it is all my mistake（错误）. ” Then I found that , it was my mistake in fact . I should talk to my classmates in a kind way and not get so angry .

    After this , I changed（改变）how I spoke . “ Excuse me . Could you please finish your homework ? ” I said . Later , I was surprised that many students understood me a lot better and finished their homework quickly.

    I found the best way to do this job is to talk with my classmates in a friendly way . Now , I am getting better and better with my classmates . This job makes me feel like I am growing up like a little tree day by day .

When they finished the moving, Mom took Jane to meet her new teacher. The teacher said, "Welcome to our school Jane. Let me tell you what we do in our second-grade class. We start the day with reading and writing. After that, we do math. Then we go out to recess(休息). Just before lunch, we have social studies. We eat lunch at eleven o'clock. Then we have story time. After story time, we have science. Then comes learning centers where you can work on the computer, play a game, or read a book. Next, we have spelling. And then we go to the music class. From 3:00 to 4:00, we have some lessons for you and you can take one of them. Here is a schedule for you to take home. I'll see you tomorrow, Jane!"
