After almost 24 hour of traveling, I was in Beijing. I was {#blank#}1{#/blank#} with some of my classmates. We were all tired and dirty. Even at the airport, it was {#blank#}2{#/blank#} that we were in a foreign country which was very different {#blank#}3{#/blank#} our own. For us, the language sounded very{#blank#}4{#/blank#} . Although nervous, I felt excited.
It's amazing{#blank#}5{#/blank#} there are so many places of interest (名胜) in Beijing. We visited the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square and the Great Wall.
One day, Li Bo, a Chinese friend of {#blank#}6{#/blank#} , took us to visit a village. On the way, it rained {#blank#}7{#/blank#} . we were wet when we arrived, but we were happy to see the mountains in the{#blank#}8{#/blank#} . They were really beautiful. The China Study Tour made me {#blank#}9{#/blank#} a lot about the country, the people I met and even myself. It was the most valuable (宝贵的) part of my college life. I often encourage my friends to {#blank#}10{#/blank#} a study tour. There's no other way to learn so much in only four weeks!

    The 14-year-old American girl became fond(喜爱) of baking and decorating(装饰) cakes when her mother first {#blank#}1{#/blank#} her how to do it. Her parents found that she is talented {#blank#}2{#/blank#} making cakes. She made her first cake for her sister's birthday. "I had never {#blank#}3{#/blank#} done anything like it before," she said.     Realizing the public's interest in Catherine's designs, her family decided to create a business for her. She has made about 35 cakes {#blank#}8{#/blank#} she started, including birthday cakes and wedding cakes. And she made her cakes without {#blank#}9{#/blank#} sketch(草稿) first.

    Catherine's {#blank#}10{#/blank#} were surprised that she could create such impressive(印象深刻的) designs at such a young age.

My Favorite Dentist(牙医)

    Some kids are scared(害怕的)to go to the dentist, but not me. I have a funny dentist. His {#blank#}1{#/blank#} is Dr. Smileyface. I don't think that's his real name, {#blank#}2{#/blank#} that's what he tells all the kids who come to see him. He has a cool waiting room. It has video games and a big toy box. Dr. Smileyface always wears funny hats. Sometimes he has his face painted. He asks funny questions like "Are you married yet?" and "Do you eat flowers to {#blank#}3{#/blank#} your breath smell so good?" That makes me laugh. One time, he told me this joke, "What has lots of teeth but never goes to the dentist? A comb(梳子)!" When I laughed, he pulled my {#blank#}4{#/blank#}. It didn't hurt at all! He also teaches me how to take care of my teeth. Before I go home, he always gives me a surprise. Last time I went, he gave me a rubber spider(蜘蛛)to scare my {#blank#}5{#/blank#} with!
