The biggest influence that technology has on family time is the change of it. People used to spend more time with their family members before. Nowadays, with children (and the parents, too) spending more time texting, watching movies and television, playing video games, and listening to music, when will the family find time to bond (培养感情) and create lasting memories together?

    Far too often we don't pay more attention to making time for members of our own family. By the end of a long day at work or school, members of the family want to relax. And now that technology use is widespread across the country, normally our "relaxing" is also known as spending time on smart phones.

    Not only is the amount of family time affected (影响) by technology, but also the quality. Technology can affect the quality in different ways. For example, family members can be distracted (使分心) by their phones while trying to play a board game together, which wouldn't  have happened if the phone didn't exist in the first place.

    If "family time" means everyone sitting in the same room while playing online, what value is there? Personal interaction is key to time well spent with loved ones. Families don't even need to have something to do while together. If they simply ask each other how their day is and play a simple game together, family bonds will get better.

    When technology becomes a focus, quality(有质量的) time for families goes down, which in turn affects everyone's life. Lack of family interaction causes the family's unity to weaken, and each of the family will be influenced in different ways. Children are more likely to develop unhealthy habits when they fail to interact with their parents. Meanwhile, parents who put work before family or pay less attention to their children's growth are more likely to face bad parent-child relationship. 67 percent of American teens say they want to spend more time with their parents, which is rather sad. Therefore, this passage is meant to show how technology has negatively influenced families.

①Hobbies are great ways to spend your time. Some hobbies can even change the way you see the world. Let's take painting as an example.

④If you take up painting, you'll see more colours and shapes in the world. You'll notice small influences(影响) of colours in the evening and will be able to break anything down into their relative shapes. So everything is more beautiful than ever. In this way, hobbies introduce us to a new world.

According to some research, before toothbrushes appeared, the ancient Chinese people {#blank#}3{#/blank#}their teeth with some small tree branches (树枝). About 800 years ago, people made a kind of brushes with pig hair and bamboo. It might {#blank#}4{#/blank#} the world's earliest form of toothbrushes. As time went{#blank#}5{#/blank#}, the forms of toothbrushes changed. For example, people chose horse-tail hair instead of pig hair {#blank#}6{#/blank#} pig hair was too hard. Imagine that you travel back to {#blank#}7{#/blank#}of years ago and brush your teeth comfortably. It sounds fantastic, doesn't it?

Around the 15th century, the Chinese toothbrush found its way into Europe. It became {#blank#}8{#/blank#} among local people soon. The {#blank#}9{#/blank#} of toothbrushes was not as famous as that of paper-making, but it was very useful in daily life. Today we have a good {#blank#}10{#/blank#} of brushing teeth. We should thank the ancient Chinese for it.

NASA has been trying hard to explore the space. The recent developments include, the launch* of the James Webb Space Telescope, the successful asteroid* hit by the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) spaceship, and the launch of the most powerful rocket ever built for the Artemis mission. The James Webb Space Telesco pe is the biggest and most powerful telescope ever built. It can see through dust in the universe and find new stars hiding inside those clouds. Even more exciting, it will try to find signs of Life on planets far away!

The telescope has been working for more than a year and has caught some amazing images and data. One example is an image of a huge star called Wolf- Rayet 124, which weighs about 10 times heavier than our sun, reported the Space website.

DART spaceship is another breakthrough for NASA. It will be used to keep Earth safe from asteroids. In September 2022, NASA tested it by hitting an asteroid called Dimorphos. The goal was to change its orbit*

Finally, we have the Mega Moon Rocket! This rocket is the most powerful one ever made and it's being used to help us get closer to Mars. NASA successfully launched it on Nov 16, 2022, and it had a 26- day trip around the moon. This is the first step of NASA's Artemis mission, which plans to set up a base on the moon for people to use in the future.

Despite the program's high cost, NASA believes that the Artemis project is worth it as it will be a key next step in the story of human exploration. As NASA administrator Bill Nelson told the BBC," This time we' re going to learn how to live in that bad environment for long periods of time all with the purpose of one day going to Mars." 

Liu Shuangrui, a 15-year-old boy from Liaoning, started to wear glasses at the age of 5. Twenty-five of 38 students in Liu's class wear glasses. Does this sound anything like your class? In fact, about 60 percent of Chinese teenagers are near-sighted (近视的). China has the world's most near-sighted people: the number of near-sighted people became 700,000,000 in 2021, and now it's even larger.

"This is mainly because of the overuse of the eyes when people are studying or working," Wang Ningli, head of a famous Beijing hospital once said. Now, many young people spend lots of time looking at computers or phones every day.

Many people know that reading in the dark light is bad for one's eyes. They try to read only under bright light. However, if the light is too bright, it can also have bad results for one's eyes.

Eating too much candy can do something bad for your eyes as well. Too much candy will result in losing vitamin (维生素) B1. Vitamin B1 is very important for your eyes.

It's not so hard to save eyesight as you expect. Almost everyone can try the following advice.

·Follow the 20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away from computers or phones you are using. Try not to put them too close to your eyes. Keep your eyes at least 20 cm away from the screens or the desks when you work or study.

·Do some outdoor activities every day.When you are outside, look at things far from you. In this way, your eyes can get relaxed. And getting more sunshine will be useful for your eyes.
